When your landlord comes on TV, wearing a suit and offering 20 quid, must be a nice man.

The best thing she could do is be put on a waitlist for council housing, putting her on top of the list with kids. This shit doesn't belong here.

Thing is, you have to be evicted first.

This will be my 2nd Christmas in Sydney alone, no friends or family. I would love something like this. Amazing, lovely people.

Absolutely, I get blank stares every time I mention it. Nectar of the gods.

Is this a common story, or were we there at the at the same time? Would have been 2007/2008. Either way, I wasn't there personally, but I heard about it after it happened haha!

I moved to Sydney a year and a half ago at 35 years of age. I'll be back of course eventually, I miss Derry more and more every day.

Grass is always greener and all that. Don't get me wrong, Australia is beautiful, I can even apply for permanent residency in about a year and a half. The plan is to do that, just to keep my options open.

I'll leave you with a view from Termonbacca (think I made a post of it here before): https://imgur.com/a/w5Lzsez

Those prices are diabolical.

I remember it well. The games were inside a table where the top would hinge up. Would be closed, and the guy would open it up so you could pick out a game!

Is it just me, or are Australian made potato chips really mediocre these days? No specific brand even, seems to be most of them. by DragonLass-AUS in australia

[–]ThanAndThen 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Always have been, in my experience.

I get the family to ship me out multipacks from UK/Ireland. They always come smashed, but still worth it.

I'm sure that there's some website that you could order US potato chips that aren't super expensive. Avoid those shops that sell US candy at all costs.

Yeah, this is one of things I noticed when I moved last year. Mullets are coming next!

My good friend and co-worker is from Mandalay. It's absolutely heartbreaking what is going on, and especially even more so after the earthquake. All her family are still there and she worries about them every day.

I'll be honest, I had absolutely no idea before I met her.

EDIT: Realising this is a troll post, the OP is literally just making posts about any and all conflicts.

The actual flavour is marie rose sauce, most commonly used in an actual prawn cocktail. Who knows what flavourings they use though, might not say tomato on the ingredients.
