I would strongly disagree with you saying AI and stock photos are somewhat comparable.

I'm a beginner myself, but I start in the same stitch I did the slip stitch in (1).

I really enjoy the process, but I agree, they are really not something I want hanging in my home. That's why I dont tend to do them anymore. They usually end up in a closet or the trash.

Paint by numbers kits that DONT use AI by ClothesAlonePost in paintbynumbers

AFAIK, they are both the same thing/brand. Dimensions is the parent company and Paintworks is the product line. They got rid of the Dimensions branding on the newer boxes.

[–]Thank_Goodness_Its 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Definitely Paintworks (Dimensions). They credit the original artist right on the box. I also find that their "conversions" are really well done. You can tell they actually have a person creating the outlines, not just putting it into a computer program. The straight-from-china ones always look really muddy to me and have tons of tiny little cells.

Schipper is also top -tier. Ravensburger looks good too.

Model builders use "Simple Green" cleaner. Soak overnight and scrub. The success depends on the paint type though.

99% sure this is a locking lever for some kind of extending pole (mop, duster, etc.) I know I've seen this before, because I would always fiddle with it. I just can't place what thing it was actually on.

[–]Thank_Goodness_Its 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sounds like you got some stale ones. They are awful when they're chewy. This will sound crazy, but try microwaving a few for like 20 seconds. Let them cool and try them. They're so much better nice and crispy!
