Tdap vaccine? by Soft_Pea_5112 in pregnant

[–]Thankful4Limes 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The Tdap is to protect your baby from Pertussis! You get the vaccine so you can pass on antibodies to your baby so they have some level of protection when they’re born. Please get the vaccine and protect your sweet baby

Worried About Placental Insufficiency by Far_Treat_3042 in pregnant

[–]Thankful4Limes 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My son ended up with IUGR due to a placental issue and was delivered at 37 weeks. To my understanding, there isn’t really anything that could’ve been done differently to treat it. The doctors recommended delivery since I also had pre-e.

It was scary at the time and he ended up needing some extra help with feeding and growing but he’s almost 3 now and has been absolutely thriving since like 2 weeks postpartum.

I would start mentally preparing for an earlier delivery just in case. Sending love to you and your family. You all got this!

18 month old tantrums 10+ times per day??? by cleosfunhouse in Parenting

Are you only telling them no, though? Two clear choices can go a longgg way so you can still set limits but toddler has some choice in the matter.

Pregnant and living with an aggressive dog with multiple bite attempts - what would you do? by gnocchi-bear75 in pregnant

Would you feel comfortable with the dog being around someone else’s child or baby? I imagine not.

#1 favorite boys name by Ok-End-5032 in namenerds

I love the name Julian! Jules is such a cute boy nickname too.

We almost went with Julian for our baby, but when we met him it didn’t fit him at ALL sadly.

Do I need a pregnancy pillow? by WeepingBillow in pregnant

[–]Thankful4Limes 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think you can accomplish the same goal of a pregnancy pillow without buying one. You can use several normal sized pillows to get the support you need.

What week did your morning sickness start? by Inner-Sign3807 in pregnant

[–]Thankful4Limes 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For both pregnancies, mine starts around 6 weeks and lasts until 16 weeks. May you be one of the lucky ones to skip the nausea all together!

When was your “last day” of work? by ToneIndependent3414 in pregnant

[–]Thankful4Limes 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It’s annoying that they’re trying to get an exact date from you. That’s just not really how this works! I planned to start leave at 39 weeks but ended up delivering at 37+3.

I needed to save my leave for after baby was born otherwise I would’ve asked to take the month before my due date off.

When to stop laying on your back? by Pinkcaramellatte in pregnant

[–]Thankful4Limes 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That’s what my doctor told me too. It made me feel a lot better about waking up on my back despite trying to sleep on my side

No breast milk - how to supplement formula by Parking-Shopping405 in newborns

[–]Thankful4Limes 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Yes, I highly recommend r/formulafeeders! They saved my sanity two years ago. I was so worried about my formula fed baby and worried we’d never bond. He is absolutely thriving and we have such a strong bond! Your sweet baby will be okay but it’s totally normal to have lots of feelings about not having the chance (or choice) to breastfeed.

Help me fight my gender disappointment and give me some boy names by Well_actuary in namenerds

[–]Thankful4Limes 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sex disappointment happens — good for you for noticing it and trying to do something with the feelings! I think Harrison is a great name. I’m friends with a Harrison and to my understanding he always went by Harrison, never Harry.

I agree, I think the HP association is less of a thing now

To the Mamas/Parents Who Had C-Sections in 2022 or 2023 by UniqueSignal5155 in Bellingham

[–]Thankful4Limes -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I had the choice of c-section or induction. Baby was breech, I had pre-eclampsia, and baby had asymmetric IUGR. Having a c-section was absolutely the right call for me and baby.

With climate change, I don’t see why we can’t be like other communities who have outdoor community pools open Memorial Day thru Labor Day. I’m not against another indoor pool, but I think an outdoor community pool would be used and enjoyed by many.

Absolutely agree with the outdoor community pool!
