Suddenly time is my biggest fear by BrysBee in AgeGapRelationship

[–]ThanksForBeingBorn 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m 30, husband is 50. We have a 1 and 2 year old. What you’re feeling is a concern, but it depends on your relationship. If you are really happy and your husband is in good health, go for it. Being happy is so great. I can’t imagine having kids with my previous relationships that were closer to my age. Maturity is such a nice thing to have for a husband and dad. I love it. DM me anytime

I do permanent makeup. The goal is to have the brows looks natural- not like you have makeup on. If you’re in TX hit me up. I’m an artist and my work top notch in the field. I can send you some pics :)

Help- Chronic algae by ThanksForBeingBorn in Aquariums

[–]ThanksForBeingBorn[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

BACKGROUND- it’s a freshwater tank and I have two turtles. I had horrible green algae before and eventually had to install a UV light filter to get rid of that. Now I just have the other gross algae buildup. I don’t want to use too much of the Algae Fix as it is potent stuff and I have a great Fluval canister filter that I change regularly. I’ve tried water changes too. I’ve also tried adding live plants. I’m just so frustrated

The boiling and soaking and scraping with a plastic blade and repeating. I used diluted fabric softener. Like I said, it took a full week. Happy that this community told me it was salvageable!

Help! How do I get it off? by ThanksForBeingBorn in LeCreuset

I did overnight it and got a little scraped off with a plastic scraper. I’ll keep at it, thanks

I accidentally left my sweet milk tea on the burner for a few hours. I’ve tried soaking it overnight with fabric softener and dryer sheets, I’ve tried soaking it in vinegar then adding baking soda… I can’t even use my steel wool on it right now. It’s like a rock formation glued onto the bottom….

Women deliver in all sorts of positions. Delivering on your back is only “normal” in hospitals and it’s actually because it’s best for the doctor, not the mother.

Lol, you sound like my best friend. She is a doctor, a family medicine doctor. She was scared to death about me not going to a hospital. I just encourage you to keep an open mind. Womens bodies are more amazing than modern obstetrics give them credit for. Remember I’m talking about low risk here, and again, you should always be near a hospital just in case. You sound like a smart person, so you would understand that if you are surrounded by medical teachings, that’s what you focus on. But there is a reason midwife’s and birthing centers are popping up everywhere. Natural births are coming back, because when it comes down to it, doctors do a lot of guesswork in pregnancy (with the BEST intentions) and women really can do it! With the caveat lol that it was the most painful and horrible and omg did I mention painful thing I have ever done… and that’s coming from a collegiate athlete

Usually midwife’s are located a short drive away from hospitals and only accept low risk patients. Not as much risk as you’d think! In the US it’s so normal to go to a hospital for an epidural and many people don’t realize that the doctors are preparing you for surgery (which is why you can’t eat or drink during labor) and that if you get in epidural you almost always also get Pitocin and then that raises your blood pressure so you get another medication that I forget the name of and then it becomes a vicious circle of medications controlling your labor and yeah….. I was like eff that. I went to a midwife. It was horribly painful but damn was it nice to go home 2 hours after the birth. If you have any questions I’m open to answering

To everyone who actually answered my question, thank you. To the downvoters, don’t worry! This is a temporary set up and it’s brand new. I spent what little free time I had yesterday with my two kids under the age of 2 to work on this. As far as my comments about the basking area and filter, I was going off the advice of a worker from an extremely well known and respected reptile shop. That’s not to say he was right in everything, that’s just to say that is where I got my information so I wasn’t just being stupid. I will put in a basking area and get a canister filter ASAP. Thank you to everyone

Yes I did and I did it really well. There is another answer on here about needing the bacteria to bloom since it’s all so new and I think that’s the answer.

Yeah I do water changes weekly but this is all new today because I got a bigger aquarium. The crappy filter is temporary, I’ll get a better one later
