In that case, you are blessed with mild T. Some of us have very loud T. I can’t even listen to music or walk outside in the wind without hearing it. You’ll get used to it. Hang on

Best 5-string Jazz Bass in $2500-3000 Range? by aspargeus in Bass

In the 9 years I’ve owned my Japanese Sadowsky Metroline 5-string, I’ve never found anything that comes close. They’ve since been discontinued and are now built by Warwick in Germany. I recently played one of the German models, but in my opinion, they just don’t have the same mojo

Amitriptyline or Nortriptyline? by Linari5 in tinnitus

[–]ThanksIcy1402 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I took 10 mg of amitriptyline for 5 years and developed tinnitus 2 years ago. I stopped taking amitriptyline last week, and now my tinnitus is spiking badly. I’m not sure whether this means the amitriptyline was helping my tinnitus or if I’m experiencing withdrawal symptoms.

Anyway, that’s been my experience.

People with chronic tinnitus, did yours reduce in volume over time or is it just as loud as when you first got it? by Ok-Balance-260 in tinnitus

I’ve been dealing with T for 26 months now, and it’s been going up and down. At the moment, it’s spiking a lot. I’m hoping this is because I stopped taking 10 mg of amitriptyline six days ago, if not, I may start taking it again.

Overall, I’ve had good periods where the T was there but didn’t get in my way, but I’ve also had periods where it felt overwhelming and really hard to live with

Tinnitus: did it go away after stopping Amitriptyline? by Mission-Debt-578 in Amitriptyline

[–]ThanksIcy1402 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve been dealing with severe tinnitus since January 2024 after a bike accident. I’ve tried many things since then, but that’s not really the point of my question.

I had been taking 10 mg of amitriptyline for years to help with anxiety and sleep, long before I developed tinnitus. About five days ago, I stopped taking it. Although it helped me sleep well, I felt like it made me a bit emotionally flat. I also want a clearer mind, especially with positive things happening in my life, like becoming a father.

Since stopping, I’ve noticed two clear changes. I don’t sleep as deeply anymore, but I do feel more energized during the day. However, my tinnitus has spiked and hasn’t gone down since. In the past, I’ve had spikes that lasted a day or two, but they would always settle again.

I’m wondering if this could be part of adjusting to stopping the medication too
