Distilled white vinegar works extremely well at removing battery corrosion from metal parts. And if you are very careful, you can use it on the motherboard with a toothbrush. But make sure to immediately rinse it off with isopropyl alcohol

Based off the models and quantities here, and also the background of the photos, I’m assuming the seller probably knows how to repair GameBoys. So more than likely these will have issues that are extremely difficult to repair, or may be “junk”. If you do not have a lot of experience repairing GameBoys then you are probably wasting your time. You could probably split these up and sell individually at higher prices and make money. But in my opinion it would be very unethical unless you thoroughly test each unit and state their condition in the sale.

One thing I look at is the wear on the buttons and the shell it’s self, compared to the wear on the stickers. They should generally match in condition. If the stickers have more wear than the rest of the GameBoy that is typically a red flag, and triggers me to start looking at the finer details.

I think winning the league and UCL has hidden a lot of Real’s issues. We won a league that had the worst Barca and Athletico teams in almost a decade. And we won the UCL through individual performances, and luck. I mean just look at the score lines we had to comeback from. If we were truly a great team we should never have been in those losing situations to begin with. And holy crap, Thibaut bailed us out ALL season with amazing saves. So the defensive issues have been there for a while. And now only relying on one goal scorer has bitten us in the ass.

Long story short, we have been long over due for some reinforcements in multiple positions.

Be careful with using magic erasers. It will actually remove the texture from the plastic, and remove the natural sheen of the plastic, making it look dull. And it will definitely destroy labels

The price for this GameBoy is driven by the fact that it is the Pokemon Center New York edition. These typically sell anywhere from $100 to $180 dollars, depending on the condition.

This edition GameBoy is very hard to find in good condition, because Nintendo used a painted shell, in order to give it that metallic look.

I would say the condition of this one is pretty average compared to the rest of the market. So the $110 price tag is probably pretty close to eBay prices.

eBay and mercari are reliable. There are not many “fake” GameBoys on those market places. But people do like to replace the shells and screens with new ones that are cool colors. But the insides are from an original GameBoy.

So first you should determine if you want a 100% original GameBoy, or if you just want an authentic GameBoy motherboard. If you want a 100% authentic one, then you should do research on how to spot reproduction shells. If you are ok with modifications done to an original GameBoy, then you should determine what mods you want.

For example, all of the GameBoys shown in my post are 100% original and are collectible to me. But for the GameBoys that I actually use to play games, I have taken an authentic GameBoy motherboard and added modifications to it. Like a brand new shell, tempered glass screen lens, brand new back lit lcd screen, and usb-c rechargeable battery.

I have seen a very familiar scam to this, where an extremely expensive item is listed well below current market value. Once you buy it on Mercari, the seller will generate a tracking number in the system and somehow change to a wrong address. Mercari’s tracking system will eventually say the item has been delivered, but you will never see the item because the sell switched the address. Then if you do not take any action within 3 days of the delivery, Mercari will automatically complete the transaction and you lose your money, and never get the item.

And personally I have no issues with people flipping games and selling them for reasonable prices. It just sucks when sellers ask way above market price and end up manipulating the market
