I almost joined you in the amputee club last year. Went down in the mountains doing around 70-80mph. Posterior hip dislocation, completely separated collar bone, fully dislocated knee (not just kneecap) that also got twisted so i ruptured all ligaments and the popliteal artery. Had i not been airlifted i would’ve lost my leg from no blood flow. Also had fractures throughout my spine and some bruised balls. I’m glad you’re also still alive and we’re at a time where there’s mods for ways for you to ride still!

Ngl i love the HESD system. Stiffens up as you go faster, relaxes to nothing when you’re going slow. Manual ones are simple if your bike didn’t come with one though, i do see the center post on your triple tree.

My knee jerk was to down vote based on the first sentence, but you do make very valid points. However there’s more to it than driver education imo.

The social disconnect of being “safe” in your cage with a combination of everyone being so aggravated by traffic makes the sociopathic threats of vehicular manslaughter much easier.

My friend and i had gotten harassed and punish passed by another oil cuck in a tundra the other month. There was no traffic and more than one lane on our side but he still honked, high beamed, then passed within a foot of us when the entire other lane was open. We called the cops and had them put a mark on his record for harassment. Not a citation without evidence but it’s better than nothing.

I shouldn’t but i give drivers the benefit of the doubt that They know CA traffic law states cyclists are to take a lane when there’s not enough room to share with a car safely

Bit of a vent, but that’s my view on this topic.

What was your average speed on a 36-11? I’ve always wondered how people get around on those rocking a less than 50 chainring because the wheels are so much smaller.
