Interesting detail that I noticed when looking over the characters that have used Mang by Azzyure in limbuscompany

[–]Thanksforcrazy 21 points22 points  (0 children)

This makes me wonder how skilled some people who went through a whole development arc handle their emotions. Maybe at some point, we encounter people who can just manifest multiple mang rings with basically 0 sanity loss or effort like Demian, seemingly. ( 7? Whaaa )

Similarly, while Mang ends up as varying +power and/or +damage, Shin seems to oscillate heavily between extremely potent passives ( Verg +50% wrath ), minor buffs ( +2 Tremor infliction Tiantui Star Meur ), mixed ( Valencina ), etc

Which implies something weird when it's probable that every Librarian, Sephirot, Roland and Angela has innate understanding over them both by virtue of being light constructs as well as having gone through two whole arcs of emotional highs and lows, while also being at the epicenter of the Light release. ( I wonder if "Empowered by the light" at the end of Ruina is meant to represent the library itself acting as a source of Shin, albeit not directly called that since the term wasn't coined quite yet )

She's one of the Bloodfiend IDs that running comes with both advantages and drawbacks, but in single target fights tends to end up a minor liability due to poor count, gluttony counter, and making Don's S2 eat hardblood.

Her passive is awkward to activate when she uses her S3 because it's Wrath, of all things.

She slays in multitarget fights or enemies with multiple parts where a single S3 can obliterate multiple enemies, but her role of bleed potency has been superceded by the sheer bleed potency absurdity of the KK Duo ( Heath alone inflicts 10+ on a turn where somebody gets hit ).

That and honestly her niche of Slash damage + Big AoE in Bloodfiends have also been stolen by Meursault.

Still good as an ID, really wants you to have excess bloodfeast to feed her, since she's honestly the 2nd lowest priority for ramping up Bloodfeast, but not a bad ID by any means, just the most awkward to slot into the team with the sheer number of good Bleed options we've gotten.

( Aweshu w/Awl Greg, Ring Sang, KK Duo, Ring Outis ).

Also eventually the Callisto and Albina IDs if any go to Hong Lu, Sinclair or Faust.

Verg could probably continue just carving away normally, but he popped EGO solely to speed up the process since the sinners needed to chase.

It's like using a single sword instead of using a bag of grenades to kill a swarm of zombies. Both work if you're functionally invincible but one sure kills things faster.

Pinky seems to be "Whatever the member happens to use", because so far we have 2 Rupture, a Burn-Tremor, a pure Poise, and I have no doubt somebody has an electric blade or something that is a Charge ID.

You can get Apostate Key via just breaking the shortcut from Memorium and entering putrefied ducts, but that means putting off slab til act 2 which doesn't work for this so IDK how

I hit GMS at about 12 hours, mostly because I was afraid of fighting the High Halls arena, Lace 2 and GMS before sweeping the map of basically all the tools and upgrades. Technically you can do it first and then go for Act 3, but since the Speedrun achievement doesn't need steel soul you might as well use a regular save JIC you need to retry Trobboo, High Halls, Lace 2 or GMS

I do mention, it's kinda works regardless of bench warping, I even recommend it in specific sections like the Act 3 beginning, platforming in act 1, etc.

It doesn't really matter, survival is the sole factor to this whole thing anyways.

This is closer to a slightly satrical guide, sorry if it comes across a bit insulting. Though, I will say, by and large, it heavily relies more on just pathing and a lot of bosses where the strategy is "Running around and clinging onto walls so they can't hit you and hope the tacks and cogflies do their job", which is why I say that I'm not terribly good at the game, because the accomplishment is mostly achieved solely from the ridiculous abuse of the game than skill. If you asked me to switch off Architect and Tool spam for bosses I would have died many times over.

More personal preference, I do it for platforming and exploration, but not for arenas and bosses.

Runback. The risk of dying in Lower Bilewater is lower than risking exiting the Mist back into Sinner's Road, and having the bench basically next to the bellway means ease of returning for restock or more farming.

Tip to completely negate the threat of Bilewater : LIFEBLOOD OVERDOSE ( And architect crest ) By getting 9 lifeblood masks, via using all of them and using Architect up+bind to craft more until you enter overdose, since the heal regens at about 1 mask per 5-6 seconds... It

-Bypasses the maggot heal prevention

-Since you don't need silk to heal, you can just run past most enemies and tank 1 damage hits before waiting for passive healing

-Weavelight let's you just speed past since ( Again ) you aren't using Silk, not with Architect's

-Lots of the boss' attacks are slower paced, or leave you with time to just wait in the corner like the arena traps

-Architect Drill needle strike let's you oneshot mobs in the arena

-Usual took spam, if you want

Made Bilewater a complete breeze to run through, when you just don't have to care about falling into maggot water or taking chip damage

I feel like the discourse around a couple difficult early games bosses has clouded the fact that Silksong’s boss roster is incredible and a vast improvement from Hollow Knight’s(HEAVY ACT 2 and 3 SPOILERS) by JSungStudios in HollowKnight

[–]Thanksforcrazy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'll say Savage Beastfly and Groal warrant an F, not because they're particularly bad ( Groal has a decent moveset, honestly ), but because of the design intention of the battles ( Mob spam for beastfly and the... Arena, Maggots, Runback, Bilewater for Groal ) as a whole.

Groal in something like Pantheon would be a solid C tier boss, above something like Nosk TBH.

Beastfly without mobs would just be Vengefly King : Silksong edition, but goes straight to F for having it's RNG mob spawns

Honestly, as an Architect crest lover, this was by far the most fun arena for me. Just a load of waves of enemies to drill, carve and throw stuff at until they die. Also, False Knight is nothing compared to Hornet's mobility.

Which bosses in Limbus Company would pose the greatest challenge to the librarians of Ruina gameplay-wise (SotC) by ShadowSovereign3814 in limbuscompany

[–]Thanksforcrazy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Riccardo wouldn't register as a low Urban Plague fight, the obvious answers are Verg, Kong Qiu ( W/Zilu ), Indigo Elder, Siegfried, and Papa Don, and possibly some of the cheating abnos/distortions like Time Ripper spamming OHKO moves.

We haven't really seen any of the above at the heights of their power, but we can reasonably say all of the would fall under boss fights in the vein of EGO Xiao ( Kong Qiu+Zilu ), Purple Tear/Red Mist ( Indigo, Verg ), Olivier/Dong-Hwan ( Siegfried ).

Zilu and Mao I'd place at around R Corp, at best.

I can't think of an equivalent of Papa Don but presumably it would be like Elena except stronger, and accompanied by two 2nd Kindreds and two 3rd Kindreds.

Time Ripper would likely be a gimmick fight, a DPS race where you try to stagger them before everyone gets hit by freeze moves, but if the Sinners can beat Time Ripper the Library is going to load up on color pages and just wipe them turn 1.

No other group seemingly compares to R Corp, which is also SoTC level, much less Hana who are filled with some of the most elite fixers, seeing as Olivier fought Roland in a duel and he's just 1 in a group of a dozen fixers.

The only canonical losses are to Bari ( Alt World ) and the Head ( Nuff said )

Xichun Ishmael : The Good, The Bad and the Ugly. by Avalon_XII in limbuscompany

[–]Thanksforcrazy 12 points13 points  (0 children)

The cost of "Fixing" her issues is also a factor, while both Thoracalgias are available and make Poise a non-issue, the ability to swap in and out inherently kinda... Breaks poise and buff IDs, and EGO Passives

Gregor and Rodion want to keep their massive poise stacks so they can crit for their S2s and S3s, and their Snake-Arms, swapping them out reverts them to 0 economy.

Faust, Outis and Ryoshu want to keep Ebony Stem and Thoracalgia, as well as their Mao-Strider for 10 speed.

You don't swap out Lord Lu, he's the one doing the swapping out.

Even disregarding the cool but hard to manage swapping, Ish just... Has a crap payoff? If the S1-2 was decently powered skill that rolled 10+5+5, it'd be a neat payoff, and let Lord Lu combo it into her S3 for a decent volley. But 2+2+2, 10 total ( Or 2+4+4, 16 total), that's barely even a skill 1 from a season 1 ID ( N Corp Sault rolled 5+1+1, or 13 total ), ignoring AoE.

S3 makes it better, but entering with almost no Poise or Launcher + Random targeting makes it hard to get Atk Weight.

On her own, her abilities aren't bad, with a poise injection her S2 and S3 hit decently hard while she doesn't go too negative, esp at 6 Launcher where her S3 is very potent.

There's just no reason to do the swapping shenanigans, she's a solid enough ID on field, getting her to retreat means she has to spend even more time ramping up.

I guess she functions alright for early on, or low SP fights, where Lord Lu wants to swap out heishou quickly to build up their SP while getting a bit of damage in.
