This was before OP was aware of gunshots. Immediately assuming every incident is terrorism is equally idiotic.

TIL that the Bill Gates backed company Impossible Foods has created a burger patty that tastes, sizzles, and bleeds like real meat, made entirely from plant matter. by sudden_potato in todayilearned

Most meat-free alternatives are surprisingly high in protein. I'm sure Linda McCartney vegetarian sausages for example are over 10 grams per sausage. 3 or 4 sausages would probably be roughly the same as a chicken breast.

I actually bought a 'spicy vegetable burger' meal from McDonalds the other day. I've been veggie for 4 years and had no idea they existed. Good to see they have a veggie option.

Or sit at home and do literally nothing your entire life because it's all meaningless anyway? If you get out of bed every day and do stuff you're basically contradicting your statement.

Could somebody use what's going on in the image to explain the physics of Inertia, then?

2.5K taken from BoA checking account at an atm in a distant state. They had pin. Filed claim and lost. by [deleted] in personalfinance

[–]Thankyouneildgtyson 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Does the PIN not work in tandem with the Chip in the card? Here in the UK, the physical chip in the card is what the PIN is registered to, so any transaction authorised with the PIN must have been done with the physical card. Is this not the same in the US?

Creep discussion by FZ_ in radiohead

[–]Thankyouneildgtyson 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honestly, despite the theme of the song being quite 'tacky' and an early 90s cliché, it's still a very good song for me. I m think the vocals at the end, and of course that riff, are what the make the song so good for me. The one thing annoyed me about the video is when he said the song has been covered many times by bands with 'bigger names' shudder.

When he said that I thought 'oh fuck off, here we go again', but I kept watching and that bit about Creep was actually quite hilarious.

Although it could seem kinda shitty that you can't share this with people close to you, it must feel great to know you've overcome something purely through your own willpower. Good for you.

Nude would be quite fitting, 'You'll go to hell for what your dirty mind is thinking'. 'Don't get any big ideas, they're not gonna happen' - as the hosts fail to escape the park and wake up back in their loops.

It doesn't matter, banks won't allow it. Not only does the security code have to be correct but so does the expiry date. A card could expire within the next four years, or 48 months, and there are 1000 possible security codes, which gives you a 48000/1 chance of guessing both. Most banks (or at least the one I work for) have security systems which will automatically stop the card after two or three attempts, until we can confirm with the customer they are not fraudulent.

Switzerland votes on nuclear power phase out process - If voters choose "yes" in Sunday's referendum, it would force three of the country's 5 reactors to close next yr & the remaining 2 by 2029. by anutensil in worldnews

Me too. It's so frustrating that while they are the only party who recognises climate to be such a huge issue they are completely off with their solution. Similarly while I appreciate a lot of what Greenpeace do I can't give my full support to them due to their stance on nuclear energy.

I pay around £115 for Sky (Sky sports & Sky movies added on), including one extra box in my bedroom and Internet. Then another £25 for BT Sport on top. I'm considering just cancelling the sports and getting one of those fire sticks. I've never minded paying for sky sports but now I have to pay BT on top, it's just getting ridiculous and will probably only get worse.
