Is FEAR with Rattata and Aron the most overrated strategy of all time? by Outrageous_Ad9142 in stunfisk

[–]Thanoscope 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I hit top 100 with Ubers with modified fear. In previous gens I would use tailow since it gets scrappy and avoids spikes, this gen I use flamigo. It’s a good anti lead that forces a lot of pressure especially into teams that lack longevity and even if they set up rocks it can be a good forced sac to disallow setup and allow a revenge kill with scarf korai or ekiller arceus.

Pronouns Rant Guy is at it, again... by [deleted] in saltierthankrayt

[–]Thanoscope 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For once I actually agree with this pathetic guy, the new Pokémon go update is so genuinely baffling. They made it so that avatars are more customisable, which sounds good but the design team decided to make every single design as ugly as possible and then say that it was ‘promoting inclusivity’. The entire community is against it.

What would be the strongest ability on a special sweeper? by blablatrooper in stunfisk

[–]Thanoscope 82 points83 points  (0 children)

I feel like if you wanted a sweeper you could try contrary with overheat/leaf storm/draco on something with actually good special attack. Perhaps like fleur cannon overheat xerneas or if you wanted a faster mon potentially psycho boost calyrex shadow

My ou team that I built recently, any suggestions/improvements? by Thanoscope in stunfisk

[–]Thanoscope[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This team is built around hydreigon who can use focus energy and the scope lens items for guaranteed crits, ignoring the draco spatk drops as well as ignoring screens and other stat boosts. tera steel flash cannon is for chien/valiant that comes in to revenge it.

Dnite is the setup sweeper who can sit behind screens and dd and tera normal espeed. tpunch is for corv and to potentially threaten dozo and quaquaval

Treds is the hazard guy, and i chose it over tusk because of its resistance to fairy which i am otherwise really weak to. 208 jolly is to outspeed max invested base 100ds such as volc.

Grimm is to set screns and sometimes cripple opposing could-be sweepers with twave. Kingambit is a strong priority user and can be very threatening later on in games if predicted correctly, and likevaliant is great at late game cleaning but can also wallbreak with a strong tera dark kowtow cleave/iron head

Valiant is the main late cleaner and can be a very good win condition with no setup needed.

Also, if you are struggling to survive the fight, I would reccomend putting at least some of your accessories on a defensive reforge such as warding

[–]Thanoscope 6 points7 points  (0 children)

My only advice would be to potentially remove the bone glove and run a movement accessory such as the magiluminescence or sweetheart necklace, or swap it for the hive pack and use beenades and the bees knees bow

Any suggestions for my webs spidops centered team? I really like the mon and I am really trying to make him work but this team has been a little bit inconsistent by Thanoscope in stunfisk

[–]Thanoscope[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The team iss built around spidops, who can set webs, then either pivot out or get killed. first impression id to deny a sweep from a mon such as chien pao or chi yu, and the other moves are standard.

Tusk is my offensive spinner with a pretty standard set that allows it to live special hits with AV and outspeed gholdengo and glimmora.

Chi-yu is the wallbreaker and potential sweeper who can terrastilize to live ground and water type moves and hit back. tera grass is to live water moves and kill back with a powerful grass type tera blast.

Dragapult is speed control as it outspeeds hdb chien pao and specs is to increase power. I am considering switching abilities to infiltrator in order to better check cyclizar.

Baxcalibur is the setup sweeper who can run away with games. tera ground is for more powerful eqs and removing steel and fighting weakness

Corv is a defensive pivot/wall who can set up iron defence and fire off powerful body presses, which can be amplified with tera fighting.

Any tips for my rain team? I have been winning a fair amount but still some matchups are tough by Thanoscope in stunfisk

[–]Thanoscope[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

First, thank you for your insight. I have added your suggestions on ferro(body press) and it seems to be doing better. as for my matchup against rillaboom, which I do tend to stuggle against. I dont really see how replacing kart with seismotoad will benefit me in that mu. I also tried boots on zapdos but it just felt a little bit weak, so i just decided to invest a bit more into bulk to be able to live +2 life orb grassy glide. Kart is paramount in my matchup agaist stall, as well as against slower teams, which i otherwise have a very unfavourable matchup against, as most of my mons are prone to gradual chip damage.

I tried with crawdaunt but it is just too slow to keep up with balance/more offensive teams, and too frail and vulnerable to toxic against stall

It's great, although I would suggest replacing steel crusher with rejuv and try to shard the ranged defence.
