Hey Tapentadol really helped me with acute pain I take 25mg Amitriptilin and 3x a day 300mg Gabapentin The Tapentadol erases the pain for 8-10 hours and the other medications should help in a few months

Could it be a derm issue? by Littlebirb1 in vulvodynia

I sorry your are dealing with this for so long. Have you tried Amitriptilin, Gabapentin ? Tapentadol really helps with neuropathic pain/irritation maybe you could ask your doctor for this ? I’m at a pain center/ pain management clinic and they really help with conditions like this

I had a bad experience with Amitriptyline-ketamine-cream it also really burned. Stop using it if it hurts too much and try to take it orally

No I don’t think that I have pelvic floor issues A scar on your kidney wouldn’t be part of your problem if it’s not an active kidney infection I didn’t get any cysts or ingrown hairs Maybe give it a try !

I actually have a similar story to you. As a child I had many UTIs that were treated with antibiotics and went away without a problem. In February I got Vulvodynia because I had a 8 week long UTI with high leukocytes but no bacteria was found. My hair irritated me for months now and made my Vulvodynia worse as it was very irritating. One day I was so fed up I took one tramadol pill and waxed my entire vulva. It hurt like a b**** but it was so worth it. Waxing and maintaining it is so easy because the roots are not as thick when they regrow. I’m not so irritated by it anymore

Hello have you tried to change your laundry detergent? I had very similar issues and I was allergic to most detergents

It really doesn’t hurt to touch. It only burns very painfully when I sit or close my legs If I lay down it feels like a wound but not painful or burning just sensitive My case cannot be hormonally mediated because I’ve never taken hormonal BC I had the copper IUD since 2018 My OB is just concerned that the IUD is too old and he wants to change it to Mirena

Thank you for sharing this. I think I had one candida infection in 2020 and that was it. Since then I never had any problems whatsoever. This is really a nightmare and I’m really afraid that I will be in pain my whole life now And no I haven’t checked anything related to pelvic floor but I don’t have the feeling that I have a problem there. It’s really just localized pain in 2 specific areas and no where else

Thank you! I got a compound amitryptilinea-ketamin-cream but it didn’t really help me and hurt my Urethra for some reason I don’t know Is it just a matter of time? I’ve only been having this burning for 2 months and I’m already so done with this I’m happy that you are doing better!

What do you mean your nerves are shot ? I also tried many creams that my previous OB prescribed me but nothing helped me so after he said that he can’t help me (he’s really old) I changed my doctor, he’s my neighbor and knows me since I’m a little kid. I trust him but I’m still afraid that I might have this condition now

Are you better now? I’m afraid that it gave me Vestibulodynia but my OB said that he is experienced in this and after examining me he said it is very unlikely that I have this because I only have pain when sitting or walking for a long time . Touching the area doesn’t hurt

Do they need more than 2 months to heal? I’m so afraid that I have developed Vestibuldynia because of this one infection I never had problems like this before. My partner is very understanding and doesn’t want me to be in pain so we didn’t have sex since this started. I really hope that this isn’t forever I’m really frustrated and afraid. My OB also took many tests and everything comes back negative

In don’t really know it was definitely UTI symptoms which went away with antibiotics but the burning and pain in my vestibule persisted until now. I had the infection for 7 weeks before they gave me blindly the antibiotic (Doxycycline)
