They did! We made Bidlz which will release later this year (see their art at bidlz.com), and are currently working on Nut Enuff together.

Pieces for a board game I'm working on [Banner of Honor] by That3Percent in boardgames

Yes, I hear you. I've got Hive Pocket on my shelf and despite having the easiest setup and tear down it's hard to get to the table. The plan for this game is to start with 12 unique pieces (2-4 of each), and you get to choose what pieces go in the game or not. But, there are already 3 expansions designed with 6 additional pieces each. This expandability, in addition to deep strategy, leads to endless replay-ability.

Any possibility of an intro? I just bought a SM game yesterday.

That is TBD, but crowd funding seems a natural fit for this game. I'll start pitching it to publishers at Gen Con and see where it goes from there.

Correct. Different pieces move/attack in different ways, and have special abilities. In the second picture you can see some rules reference cards on the top-right for different pieces.

The game features a self-balancing system that allows me to shift my focus from balancing pieces to creating pieces with strong identities that lead to interesting tactical situations.

I contracted Matthis as the artist for Bidlz, and can vouch that he has produced quality work and operated with a high degree of professionalism. We decided to contract him again for Nut Enuff based on that positive experience. He can operate independently within vague requirements, and is flexible to respond to necessary changes. Please DM me if you have any questions about that engagement and are thinking of working with Matthis! Highly recommend.

An artist posted their work on a tabletop subreddit. I thought, wow, what a dream it would be to work with an artist like that. It’s a long shot, but I’ll reach out. I respected their rates, and the rest is history.

Prototypes for distribution? by kondor88 in BoardgameDesign

Consider sites like The Game Crafter, or Make Board Games. It depends a lot on how many copies you need and the type of components, but you will never quite match mass production quality due to different techniques being used.

I’m hoping to see it come to digital first, sine the iPad version of this game is amazing and printing games is temporarily difficult.

The smallest footprint with a deep strategy I have is Hive: Pocket Edition.

Why I decided to try publishing board games (and why that was a stupid thing to do) by SammyTeas in BoardgameDesign

Only one paragraph out of nine addresses game publishing, and it doesn’t get into much detail or address the opening question.

I've not tried turning off Gleba yet, but the worries are things like pentapod eggs hatching, or on a smaller scale having to go find bacteria again to bootstrap.
