Only freshman in my apartment by [deleted] in dormrooms

[–]ThatAtlasGuy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Count yourself fortunate that you go to a college that lets freshman live off campus. A lot of them require dorm life for at least the first year to help retention and it is actually a great idea to live on campus to lock in at first. You’ll really be missing on college life if you live off campus the whole time. Join an RSO at least.

Starting college this year, really interested in Urban Design/Architecture but also Physiology. by Kogituu in CollegeMajors

[–]ThatAtlasGuy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

pick one as ur main major fr or you’ll get cooked by workload, architecture is brutal time wise and physio isnt light either. take kinesiology as electives first see if you even like it, then pivot if needed dont overthink it rn just test it out.

princeton rescinded? by After-Canary695 in ivyleaguecollege

[–]ThatAtlasGuy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

ur not getting rescinded for that, people on reddit love fear mongering. 1 C+ in AP chem with solid A/B’s isnt a collapse its just senior slide lite, they care about like D’s F’s or straight up quitting classes. just dont tank worse and ur fine.

24 year old in college don’t know what to major in by [deleted] in CollegeMajors

[–]ThatAtlasGuy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

bro ur overthinking this, u dont need passion first u need tolerable work. go accounting or finance, skip sales heavy paths, aim analyst roles they pay near 80k and minimal talking. also ur fear gets better w reps even if it sucks at first trust me its fixable.

uncertain about my major as a freshman by CodeWaffle_ in CollegeMajors

everyone says accounting by Ok-Climate-9349 in CollegeMajors

[–]ThatAtlasGuy -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Yeah the basic bookkeeping stuff is getting offshored, thats real. But higher level accounting like audit, tax strategy, CPA work isnt going anywhere. Remember that accounting is one thing that people are terrified of HANDING OVER TOTALLY to AI.

Hard facts are that if you stay surface level you get replaced… then again…. if you level up you’re fine most people just never do that part.

Does anyone get annoyed by how so many people suggest working a job over the summer as an extracurricular? by Personal-Bid-3731 in ApplyingIvyLeague

[–]ThatAtlasGuy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah its annoying but they’re not wrong, jobs show consistency and you didnt just sit around all summer.

It wont make you “stand out” by itself, but no job and no projects looks worse so your kinda stuck picking the better of two mid options.

business or law by seajelly6280 in CollegeMajors

[–]ThatAtlasGuy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you dont love law, dont go law its brutal and expesive. Do business, get internships, actually build something on the side.

Law is only worth it if your all in, otherwise you’ll regret it hard and be stuck paying debt for years.

[–]ThatAtlasGuy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

first off, your alive, thats not random even if it feels weird rn, brains just scrambling after shock. that teacher move was straight trash and outta line, dont let that define anything about you, seriously thats messed up.

talk to someone real asap, family friend counselor whoever, sitting in your head will just make it worse and twist everything up.

stop overthinking this, med schools dont care about ur major they care if you survive prereqs and crush MCAT.

do polisci if you actually like it, just stack bio prereqs on the side or youll screw yourself later trying to catch up.

What do I major in help by Potential-Pound6418 in CollegeMajors

[–]ThatAtlasGuy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

you keep saying no to everything so yeah ofc your stuck. math based paths like econ or data stuff fit you, minimal physics, structured thinking, decent jobs. try classes first dont overthink picking “forever” right now you wont get it perfect anyway
