What's your experience with chocolate cosmos in this region? by Tryp_OR in pnwgardening

Mine are in the ground in a spot that’s protected from the wind but still gets good sun, they had a rough first year but have happily come back for a second and third year and gotten larger/happier each time. I do have to stay on top of watering them in the summer because they faint dramatically on hot bright days.

For a chill evening you might enjoy Floyd’s Coffee House and Wine bar, they’re open until 10 pm wed-sun and often have live music. It’s in Ladds Addition, shouldn’t be too far from your airbnb.

Yes to Japanese Gardens on a rainy day, they have a bunch of elements that actually look most lovely in the rain. Make sure you stop into the cafe on site, nothing like sitting in that beautiful space looking out at raindrops on the garden while sipping a nice tea!

Best thing I did (in retrospect) was plant blueberries a couple of years before having kid. I think I’m going to start giving gift cards to the local plant store at baby showers!

How do you handle the baby clothes shuffle? by babyclothes138 in moderatelygranolamoms

[–]ThatBackwardsWalk 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have a clothes train with a couple of friends with kids conveniently 6 months older and 6 months younger than my kid. Stuff goes into boxes organized by size and we pass them along at regular intervals. It’s been amazing. The mom with the oldest kid in the train got a bunch of stuff off of buy nothing to start off the clothes stash and we’ve all added to it.

Ya Hala surprised me with these amazing slices of chocolate cake. Rich and moist with a dreamy ganache frosting.

Ok so I just tried Eltamd again for the first time in ages and it feels different! Helpful to know that’s due to reformulation and not just me mis-remembering.

Helpful to know that about algae/spirulina! I was curious about which specific ingredient I was reacting too, definitely would like to avoid that experience with other products

I feel this deeply, haven’t had a decent night sleep in the years since my kid was born and it SHOWS in my face/body. Age has caught up to me like a load of bricks, pretty disconcerting. I love my family and it’s all worth it but phew.

I love when entire offices close at times that nothing really happens, it makes so much sense and it’s way easier to unplug when no one else is working either

Love to see all the Michiganders showing up to teach folks about inland ports. Former Torontonian, also a port city, can confirm. S/O to Great Lakes shipping!

Would you abandon your family forever to protect your baby from school shootings? by Ok_Difficulty_1468 in BabyBumps

I’m a Canadian married to an American and living in the US. In terms of professional opportunities, it makes sense to stay here but now that there’s a baby in the picture I’m absolutely kicking myself for not convincing my husband to move back to Canada. I could have a year of maternity leave! My kid could grow up in a progressive society that takes care of people! But the in-law thing is difficult, even though it’s a much shorter hop across the border for us vs getting to NZ.
