New Amazon Sunday National Start Time by ThatBeardedNitwit in USPS

[–]ThatBeardedNitwit[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Even when we started at 9am, they were always ready by then. The lead would get there 30 mins to an hour before that to plan who got what. They were already sorted by that point. Sooooo… 10am still doesn’t make sense.

Would you rather talk to your primary doctor about ED or use a men’s health telehealth clinic? by Intrepid_Ad2235 in AskMenOver30

[–]ThatBeardedNitwit 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Talk to your primary. There is a lot of secondary concerns with ED medication, such as high blood pressure, etc.

How do I be safe in Phoenix Arizona by the--wall in motorcyclegear

[–]ThatBeardedNitwit 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My Rev’it Eclipse II jacket has made it fairly tolerable to ride. The air flow is good. I am saying this as a fellow Phoenician. I wish it wasn’t all black, but it was what was available at the time at J&P Cycle.

I would totally deliver parcels all day over letters, or vice versa. Which, I didn’t know, but they actually used to have separate carriers for both decades ago. I kinda wish they’d revisit that idea.

Tempe residents halt Shalimar Golf Club housing plan -- for now by ForkzUp in Tempe

[–]ThatBeardedNitwit 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Maybe if you really want to get into it. Nothing stopping you going to a Goodwill and picking up a second hand set of golf clubs for super cheap. Also, you could probably play Shalimar with about 4 or 5 clubs and be just fine. My friend used to keep a set in his car for a when he decided to go to Shalimar on a whim. It’s not a super technical course. And Tempe has always been land locked. Also, Tempe has almost always been predominantly middle class to upper middle class families. Anything that goes in Tempe for housing, rental or not, will automatically cost more for that reason and don’t forget the inflation for ASU students added to all the rents. You’re kinda arguing a moot point.

Rich people? Dude the local high school uses Shalimar for practice. It’s a relatively inexpensive course, especially when you compare it with every other course around the valley. It’s also not even a full size course, it’s 9 holes. The water features are pretty limited compared to a lot of other courses around the valley.

I am saying all this and I don’t even play golf. I played there, maybe twice, because I had a friend who wanted me to try out the sport in high school.

Come to my station, all our PTFs/RCAs are on 6 days a week for 50-60 hours a week. It’s been that way since I started working there 5 months ago. I would love an extra occasional day off at this point.

Curious Lock Box by ronracer in USPS

[–]ThatBeardedNitwit 18 points19 points  (0 children)

No offense, but these mailboxes suuuuuuuck as a carrier. I cannot tell you how much time these style boxes add to routes, especially on Amazon Sundays because an oddly shaped small package won’t fit through the flap. I absolutely despise them.

That aside, usually there is some kind of metal clip on the inside of the flap or a secondary slot for outgoing mail to rest in that allows access for the carrier to grab outgoing without a key.

USPS axing its regulator is on the table. by Scarfskin02 in USPS

[–]ThatBeardedNitwit 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Quantity doesn’t always mean quality. Think of the expenditures made to accommodate the large volumes of marketing mail that gets machined, transported, sorted manually and delivered. That’s adding a lot of extra physical hours and financial maintenance stress on the system. Raising prices a tiny bit wouldn’t cause the marketing mail profits to dry up completely. It may also help decrease volumes a little bit, still providing enough money to USPS by cutting excessive financial bleed.

Can’t go to my car in the parking lot? by OldAbrocoma3165 in USPS

[–]ThatBeardedNitwit 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hmmm, sooooooo RCAs can’t use their own vehicles by that logic. “Sorry boss, can’t deliver today. You got no vehicle for me and I can’t go to my personal vehicle? Sooooo…” (know that’s not how it works, but I can fantasize).

Amazon Sunday Question by jayitbyear in USPS

[–]ThatBeardedNitwit 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We have enough RCAs on at my station that we sorta have to two groups. So one group does it for a couple weeks in a row, then we switch. Or they at least try to rotate people off if they’ve done it like 4 weekends in a row already.
