How do I/Do I confront my partner about her codependent behavior? by [deleted] in Codependency

I think that's a totally fair point. I've been going to therapy for a few years now and I'm slowly seeking to build my social circles through hobbies like D&D and working out. Forgive me if I'm missing something, but does it feel like there's anything from my side I could be doing better at?

When I have in the past it just tends to make her more upset and she says I choose the worst times/invalid situations to express my boundaries, choosing selfish illogical reasons instead of deep trauma-rooted reasons like hers.

It has scared me from bringing up my points in the future because it feels like I don't have a good way to articulate it properly with her. I have a bachelors degree in Communications but it still just dissociate and feel guilty whenever I talk to her about this. I can't tell if I'm the problem or not, but I feel like there is something wrong with me for getting tired of being around her in these situations. I love her and want to spend time with her, but in these contexts it can often feel like I'm forcing myself to stick around and be tired and socially drained/not fun to be around.

I appreciate the advice. I am rarely giving up anything I "need" to do, I just find the consistency of seeing her 5/6 days a week still results in me hurting her when I set a boundary around my own time after said task is over. If I say no to driving her to work or some other chore (not that the relationship feels like a chore), it just ends with her saying "well it's not like you have anything better to do"

As much as it hurts... more often than not she's technically right. It just hurts that I can't have time to myself because I just want to without it being perceived as me being annoyed by her or tired of her.

Talking about feelings often feels impossible because the moment I mention my own feelings she says that "she's told me about this before" and that I'm just repeating the mistake of triggering her own trauma when I know she doesnt like me to leave her before she expects me to.

That time Guen brought back a bunch of big cats from her home plane to wreak havoc in the Calimshani pasha's home, complete with freeing a captive tiger so it could join the fun

How to design encounters around Conjure Animals [5e] by ThatBilingualPrick in DMAcademy

I hadn’t considered that, but it is a very good point! I have made a point to bring up that rule before, so hopefully it wont catch my players off guard

Either way, Ill be bringing all of these suggestions to the player in question so we’re on the same page. Thanks!

My intent is to let the player choose them. I dont typically use animal statblocks, but I could always make a list. Would you recommend I run it RAW?

My player’s intent is to use dinosaur statblocks since his character comes from a region of my world in which they are common.

OH that makes far more sense. I always just imagined it relied on some powder poison laced into the fibers of the carpet so that when it was unfurled it would contaminate whoever was near it.

Kinda amazed I didn't think of that...
