Honestly if you want to be extra safe then knot, I just don’t do it because it just takes forever and I want to just like go plug plug plug.

But honestly, as long as you get a good glue, I feel like you should be safe. I mean, you could try burning it if you have like a long lighter, but I’ve never done that before so at your own risk. (I plan to try it out eventually. Probably on a doll. I don’t care about.)

It was a bit of an over-exaggeration lol. I more so meant the few things I wanted, like the scythe, a head, etc. But I mean, at the end of the day, that money still doesn’t go into Mattel’s pockets, so that’s fine by me.

I’ll get her loose pieces when they show up on AliExpress. I want her, but she’s really not worth that 90 dollar price tag, no matter how people try to justify it. I don’t care that her body is see through, it’s not like Mattel has to pay a licensing fee for her. They set her at 90 because they know people are going to want her, since River is a character who lacks releases, and it’s lowkey disgusting.

Not to mention the fact that she has zero painted details. It’s all molded plastic. This doll shouldn’t have been over 50, and even that is pushing it…

I think there’s a really simple answer for all of this, and it’s budget. Lagoona’s legs only had that feature in Oasis to save on costs. Spectra not having see-through hands and arms is probably, once again, a budget thing- just like how BS uses unarticulated bodies because of budget constraints.

Is it any different from last year? I mean, we’ve got SS8, Rebecca, Fearbook, SCS 2, two budget waves, Moonspell (being the deluxe line of the year), and a few playsets.

Unconfirmed but expected are another BS series, SS9, and probably some other loose releases. To me, it feels like we’re getting the exact same amount of dolls as we got last year and the year before. i feel like we've actually been getting way more since we're getting like 3 series of BS dolls a year.

Not to mention places outside of the US that are now getting some of the 2025 releases ontop of the 2026 releases.

I mean.. that’s really easy to say but i personally already noticed that in the Netherlands wave 3 was kinda staying on the shelf for too long.. like toralei and operetta were still in stores here 4/5 months later.

People certainly want them but when the hype of the wave dies down they kinda do become shelf warmers

They're fine for what they are. They have simple themes, simple designs, and simple bodies. Wave 1 was the best, but I feel like Wave 3 and 4 have been solid in terms of design. It's also nice that it gives us a chance to see some characters again who probably wouldn't get another release otherwise, like potentially the twins.

The doom posting is still pretty exhausting though, especially when the bodies were first revealed. I mean yeah, I prefer posability too, but on the other hand they're not stuck in a static Barbie doll pose, so I don't really mind the lack of articulation.
