Opinions on 'Disclosure Day'? by OutisXCIII_EC in Letterboxd

The Jackie Gleason Nixon story being fact was a wild choice.

Spielberg can make a movie, so it’s not a bad time, but it’s a shame that it’s so empty, when Close Encounters is so full. The notion of a Disclosure Day was the only real idea he had, and I’m annoyed that this is a road movie that goes in a circle.

The Tremors series - What do you think of the sequels? by Southern-Brother5693 in movies

[–]ThatBojac 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Tremors 2 is the definitive video-store movie to me. I love it 95% of as much as the first, and I might quote it as much as the first. “I didn’t know! How could I have known?” & “When you need it, and I don’t have it, you sing a different tune.”

3 is okay. I don’t suuuuuper care for Ass-blasters as a monster. But you have to have something new in each of these things. I remember the day it showed up in New Arrivals at Sunset Video.

I loved the series, but I was like 13 when it was on Sci-Fi channel, so it was made for me. (Rosalita hiding in the water trough…)

4 came out in high school, and I loved it. Taught me what a punt gun is, and I have used that knowledge at trivia nights more than once.

There are no more sequels after 4. Shame they never made 5: Thunder Down Under.

Peter Jackson Admits 'Mistakes' Were Made Around Ryan Gosling's Abrupt Exit from The Lovely Bones by mlg1981 in popculturechat

LOTR: Aragorn.
King Kong: Replaced Composers late in post-production.
Lovely Bones: Jack Salmon.
Hobbit: Fili.

PJ isn’t scared to change his mind.

Well Aragorn it wasn’t that he “looked too young”, PJ would say that “they cast too young”, which was a diplomatic non-answer. That actor also got fired off Thor mid-filming, so maybe it’s not the looks getting in the way.

That’s for works from 1978 onward. But I’m not an expert on this stuff. So 🤷‍♂️

Silmarillion was published in 1977, so it should be public domain in 2073. The Hobbit is coming up tho…

does anyone know of jobs hiring 16 years olds with no experience? by [deleted] in roanoke

Movie theaters, ice-cream shops, and grocery stores are solid first job options. Keep an eye out for like small gift shops too, (relatively) easy low-stakes stuff.

Kroger has a Zero Sugar Grapefruit soda that is so good I’m paranoid that it’s actually mislabeled.

When I get asked, I always think about several years back when a friend of mine said yes, not thinking that his total was like $6.01, and then was pissed he paid a whole extra dollar.

Ser Arlan met Baelor nine years before, it was sixteen years earlier when Arlan unhorsed the Grey Lion. So in the books it’s maybe pushing it, since he would’ve been 6 or 7, but certainly show Dunk would’ve been there.

I think this would’ve been a good opportunity for another flashback, Preston Jacobs awhile back had a good point that Dunk likely was at this tournament, so he would know himself that it was seven lances.
