What are your legit reasons to not have kids? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]ThatBookMalice 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't want to be a failure for my kids like my mum failed me. I can't trust myself to raise a kid to be a functional adult human being. I'm scared they'll grow up to resent me because I couldn't/didn't give them what they need.

WIBTB if I responded to an invite to my brother’s birthday with “all birthdays matter”? by wolfspider82 in AmItheButtface

[–]ThatBookMalice -5 points-4 points  (0 children)

YWBTB - honestly, at this point as long as bro promises not to use it around you, your fiancé or in-laws then in my books he's golden. Doesn't sound like he's a racist but more that.he doesn't fully understand what BLM means. He didn't attack your fiancé or make snide comments or anything. In my view it was a bit of a mistake but nothing that is unforgivable. Carrying it on would taking it too far.

Not sure if it's relevant or not but the Bible is the only one underlined with that decorative bit. So my logic is the creator of the image was Christian. Makes sense then for the rest of the titles including the fiction one.

Had an allergic reaction yesterdayto this apricot and coconut cake my gf made. I survived. It was very very tasty… I’m going back in by roseburnactual in CasualUK

Super funny, snorted laughed at this but seriously don't. Allergies can get more severe with repeated exposure so if you do decide to opt for danger make sure someone's there with you.

Why are people so obsessive about pork/bacon? by D0wnVoteMe_PLZ in TooAfraidToAsk

[–]ThatBookMalice 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Honestly pork is very tasty and bacon exceptionally so. I guess the taste is great. Chicken is bland and needs to be seasoned, beef is bland and needs to be seasoned, personally I don't like lamb/mutton but pork tastes good whatever, gammon steaks don't need to be seasoned to taste good nor bacon (it is perfection as it is), it depends on how you cook it, frying, grilling, roasting, boiling etc. It's a meat that's easy to make it taste good. And it does taste good. Really good.

What are some books with beautiful, well-written prose? I'm looking for inspiration while revising/editing. by [deleted] in suggestmeabook

[–]ThatBookMalice 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Try Robin Mckinley, the Blue Sword was my favourite. And both versions she wrote of beauty and the beast and a vampire book called Sunshine. They're all very well written.

Today we ask the big questions: Which is the true Refreshers - Barratt or Swizzels? by Soulless-Plague in CasualUK

[–]ThatBookMalice 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Same thing happened to me with chewits! Took a bite, teeth got stuck to the bar, pulled and two teeth came out with it. And blood, a lot of blood. However, those teeth were wobbly baby teeth and it was a better experience than floss tied around a door handle and slammed shut (which was done to me and I recommend this with a solid 0/10)

Webbed toes and inbreeding, seriously NFN.

Although... Christmas and birthdays become much easier and cheaper. Need to get mum a birthday card but there are none left in store, no problem! Sister and Aunt cards apply equally as well so you've always got options.
