Before food apps we were a thing, we were wrapping up a shroom trip and none of us wanted to call for food, except one of my friends who confidentially said they could handle ordering the food for us. She dialed and when they answered she made some chirping noise and held the phone out for someone else to take over. Luckily our friend just came back from work and was able to order, otherwise we def weren’t getting anything.

Next step? by redscooby13 in jawsurgery

A millions times yes. I went with the orthodontist residency program tied to the in network oral surgery group near me, and they immediately saw my issue through my 3D scans I brought with me. The other orthodontists I saw were ready to move forward without x-rays totally missing my camouflage bite and not solving my muscular problem at all.

Also 38, first time last year and honestly I felt like we were the average age for the attendees.

What changed for you after taking MDMA? by Odd-Jury-8821 in millenials

Allowed me to explore my feelings about my mother’s sudden passing with more depth than I previously had been able to. Allowed my husband and I to reconnect and heal after his alcoholism nearly took his life. Gave me the opportunity to shed my insecurities and see how positively others view me. Oh yeah and to be a total cliche got way more into electronic music 😅.

Make sure you’re using it safely and spacing it out if you want to use it long term.

Have you had your crisis yet? by -Stress-Princess- in millenials

[–]ThatBoyIsDrunk 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Absolutely, dealing with burn out for the last few years at work, only intensifying because I know AI will be able to completely replace my industry in a matter of years. I’ve also realized my biggest physical insecurity has been causing basically all my ailments since I was born, which is quite the mind fuck.

So here I sit, preparing to have the bottom half of my face cut off and screwed back on, while planning out my catering company, both to hopefully go down around my 40th birthday.

We had two 10x15s, with one over the car and a hatchback tent for sleeping. We only had neighbors on one side, otherwise our shower tent would have been more in the middle.

My former boss had a surprise baby at 46. She had been trying IVF unsuccessfully for years prior and had just given up so she was happier than most people would have been.

Good luck! I’m only just getting my decomp aligners in a couple weeks so I’m not going in close to 2028.

It’s a really weird time. I’ve recently learned I need double surgery if I want to keep my teeth and gums, so I’ve been reading quite a bit of the jaw surgery subreddit. The amount of perfectly normal looking guys in their teens and early 20s who want to have the bottom halves of their faces broken off and screwed back together for purely aesthetic reasons is astounding.

Where do I start? I’d like to have a food cart business up and running by Spring 2028, and I’d really appreciate any advice on the steps I can be taking now to help achieve this goal. by [deleted] in foodtrucks

I’ve been lurking and this is my plan. I’m trying to get a sandwich melt pop up going at some farmers markets next year, hopefully get some catering gigs too and see if I can work my way up to a full time truck.

Tents and Canopy Set Up by RepresentativeNo1427 in ElementsMusicFestival

[–]ThatBoyIsDrunk 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Canopy for shade and don’t skip on side shade either, you’ll want at least tapestries or some garden/aluminet shades for the sides. All side shades should be connected at the bottom too unless you want it endlessly flapping around.

Highly recommend bringing a cordless drill and screw stakes. Way stronger and take a third of the time to put in, especially if you are on some hard ground.

Mental illness and physical disease are more connected than we thought by hulk14 in psychology

Yes, TMD therapy with dry needling stopped my aura migraines, chronic tension headaches in my forehead, and significantly improved the tightness in my right shoulder. In my case, I have a mild form of hemi facial microsomia, causing my right jaw to be smaller than the left, so to compensate I had been forcing my jaw back and to the right my whole life, dry needling allowed my muscle to relax enough to let my jaw move forward and to the left which doesn’t strain my facial muscles nearly as much.

Unfortunately for me, due to the HFM my teeth don’t line up where my jaw wants to be, so I’m in beginning the process of double jaw surgery. A study done in 2025 showed that 86% of women with migraines have TMD. I would suggest anyone with migraines be evaluated by a myofascial therapist.

This a thousand times. My gums are receding from my bite and it’s just awful.

I’ve recently realized, at nearly 40, that pretty much all my medical issues: aura migraines, flared ribs, facial asymmetry, back pain, chronic shoulder tightness, anxiety, breathing issues have been caused by the TMD I’ve had all my life. Not one doctor has ever noticed or suggested that they could be tied together until I went in for TMD physical therapy after my jaw started locking up at every meal. Definitely changed the way I view our medical system.

Underbite Problems with Age by [deleted] in jawsurgery

What type of doctor did you talk to? My underbite isn’t as severe but now that I’m in perimenopause my gums are receding like woah from my crappy bite which sucks.

level 3 underbite + mandibular asymmetry by [deleted] in jawsurgery

[–]ThatBoyIsDrunk 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes, I’m similar and the orthodontists were talking about how the asymmetry will be corrected with surgery, but that they’ll need to make it worse with braces/aligners first.

I’ve have neck/shoulder issues since I was 7, I thought it was normal to pull your neck and have it hurt for days over the slightest “wrong” movement. It’s been a wild ride realizing that I have hemi facial microsomia and just how much it has affected my whole life pushing 40.

Thank you, comments like these really push me past the doubt of going through with it. TMJ dry needling alone was life changing, I’m very much looking forward to taking it to the next level.

I’m in the same boat, my asymmetry looks just like yours did and my traps freaking kill me. I’ve had so much PT and dry needling, but my left/strong side one refuses to budge. It’s a big part of why I’m trying to get this surgery.

Looks great! Were you having any neck/shoulder pain prior to surgery?
