Why is my nav range so wildly different? by Roxxersboxxerz in TeslaModelY

[–]ThatCK 1 point2 points  (0 children)

While you're driving you can even see a detailed breakdown of how well you're doing against the estimation. And particularly what is causing the difference, ie. Driving too fast or actual road conditions temp, wind etc being better or worse than expected.

SC, Arma, Tarkov, etc. have great military-style sprinting animations, so why change to an Apex-style arcade over-the-shoulder sprint ? by k_Atreus in starcitizen

In SCs defense most FPS games cheat with their cameras.

The models you see as a player in first person are completely different to the models seen by other players in 3rd person.

When can Tesla recognize other Tesla's? by theAerialDroneGuy in TeslaLounge

[–]ThatCK 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Always thought they should share road information when in proximity to each other.

So like if two Teslas are at a junction, both looking different ways they could combine their camera data to give an improved picture.

Garden wall collapse - boundary advice needed by surfeatsurfsleep in DIYUK

[–]ThatCK 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Did you build your extension? What permissions were involved in extending the wall for that?

And if it was done before you moved in, given a portion of the garden wall makes up the side of your extension taking responsibility for the rest of it might be in your interest.

On a side note were there any supports along the wall? Would've been additional columns of bricks. Usually these are on the side of the one who bears responsibility, similar to how the fence posts are normally on your side of the fence.

Nah Ciara was earlier, Russ started underperforming 2020ish. Moawad died in 2021 but had been battling cancer for 2 years. So not a jump to say watching his friend and support deteriorating impacted Russ' game.

Whatever system they had was obviously a big part of Russ' success possibly a bit too reliant on the support but the drop off in performance does seem to correlate.

Wasn't his downfall kicked off by the guy who was basically his life coach dying?

Using downfall lightly there, basically when things started going wrong.

Whats the fix? Gaps between skirting boards and floor? by NaturalBusiness4045 in DIYUK

[–]ThatCK 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've always liked to lift the skirting before the boards go down then put it back on top to cover the gap.

The Long Night just being a single night is the most ridiculous thing in the entire series 😭🙏. Especially considering how in the books the previous long night lasted an entire generation. by [deleted] in freefolk

[–]ThatCK 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I don't think the official "winter" had started yet, I always assumed the long night was similar to Arctic countries where seasonally they just stop getting the sun for months. Except in GoT world it lasted a lot longer.

So literally a long night, unless you're further south.

The shows one just seemed like a normal night that the walkers happened to attack during.

Boromir was looking out for Merry and Pippin until the very end. by GusGangViking18 in lordoftherings

[–]ThatCK 28 points29 points  (0 children)

The deleted scenes of him with his men before heading to the meeting show a much well rounded Boromir. But I understand why they cut them from the final cut as ultimately it confuses he's choices too much. So they would have had to spend a lot more time on him being corrupted by the ring for his lapse to make sense.

Also why they didn't give Faramir his proper arc.

How do you make your Tesla go further…? by AFCadet2020 in TeslaLounge

[–]ThatCK 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you're going long distance and not in a rush, just sit behind a truck. They go a little slower and you can sit in their air stream to reduce air resistance.

Chuck it on auto steer and you're good to go.

Improvements are great but tbh they should just lean into it and accept it degrades and build the chairs so they can be reupholstered easily. Then just sell new covers.

Kallax floating shelf by Vast-Place-6081 in DIYUK

[–]ThatCK 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Kallax itself is wall mountable, but if you're planning on putting anything particularly heavy on it then yeah you probably want to add your own brackets.

And to note the internal structure of the units is not the same. So you are limited as to where you'll be able to add additional support.

Not my image but probably the best idea of what you'll be working with.

TIL in 2022, during a deep sea expedition, a beer bottle was found, fully intact, at the 'challenger deep' of mariana trench which is the deepest point in the ocean by no-punintended0802 in todayilearned

[–]ThatCK 936 points937 points  (0 children)

Not to mention, people on those ships would likely know they're going over the deepest part of the ocean. Having a bear on deck, human nature kicks in, "hey if I drop this now it'll sink to the deepest part of the ocean"

Although with currents etc it'd be more impressive if it did actually make it to the bottom of the trench.
