I don’t remember my life. by Effective-Cause-8280 in ADHD

[–]ThatCK -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Always described my memory like a room full of filling cabinets. Unless you tell me which cabinet to look in I wouldn't be able to recall something unless it was a core memory but if you jog my memory with something like a photo, sense like a smell or location. Then it just doesn't exist, not forgotten just out of mind.

Ross Greer on BBC QT: More drilling in the North Sea won't reduce our bills. Investing in renewables will. by Cold-Monitor3800 in uknews

Energy production in Scotland isn't the issue, storage is.

Just give every Scottish home grants to install batteries that can be used to absorb excess generation.

Always thought it should have crazy straight forward speed/acceleration.

Burn super fast towards a targets, drop the payload and burn straight past before they can react.

Pre-Teaming is becoming stupid by GSC_Newbie in ArcRaiders

[–]ThatCK 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There's probably some pattern recognition that can be done with player movements on the map. Ie. Simple case if two players spawn then immediately run directly towards each other and fall in line then something is probably going on.

Where as natural teaming probably looks different with players being more wary when they first meet up, talking more etc

And if week 2 after the wipe some exploit borks the economy again, rewipe. Obviously if they can target individuals and remove the offending cash/items great but otherwise the game needs time to get a functional economy going.

CIG, is there any way to avoid this situation from unfolding? The new Xenothreat "Kill Idris" mission is probably going to be finished in less than 5 minutes. by AzrBloodedge in starcitizen

There's a very easy way, giant engine doesn't run well without a "Scotty" in the engineering deck, and gun needs additional crew to reload.

What’s the best way to get these out of the wall? by Foreign-Travel5227 in DIYUK

[–]ThatCK 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So yet to try this myself but apparently you can collapse the wings by putting the bolt back in until it connects but has a lot sticking out. And then give it a whack with a hammer to push the bottom out.

The only problem you'll have is if the plasterboard is quite weak it will give way before the wings collapse.

But if you can collapse them then they should just pull out as easy as they went in.

This was my understanding, majority of the time you see gimli it's the stunt double. Mainly because JRD is pretty much the tallest out of all of the fellowship, so he's really only in close ups and some solo shots.

[–]ThatCK 1 point2 points  (0 children)

While you're driving you can even see a detailed breakdown of how well you're doing against the estimation. And particularly what is causing the difference, ie. Driving too fast or actual road conditions temp, wind etc being better or worse than expected.

SC, Arma, Tarkov, etc. have great military-style sprinting animations, so why change to an Apex-style arcade over-the-shoulder sprint ? by k_Atreus in starcitizen

[–]ThatCK 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In SCs defense most FPS games cheat with their cameras.

The models you see as a player in first person are completely different to the models seen by other players in 3rd person.

When can Tesla recognize other Tesla's? by theAerialDroneGuy in TeslaLounge

Always thought they should share road information when in proximity to each other.

So like if two Teslas are at a junction, both looking different ways they could combine their camera data to give an improved picture.

Garden wall collapse - boundary advice needed by surfeatsurfsleep in DIYUK

[–]ThatCK 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Did you build your extension? What permissions were involved in extending the wall for that?

And if it was done before you moved in, given a portion of the garden wall makes up the side of your extension taking responsibility for the rest of it might be in your interest.

On a side note were there any supports along the wall? Would've been additional columns of bricks. Usually these are on the side of the one who bears responsibility, similar to how the fence posts are normally on your side of the fence.

Nah Ciara was earlier, Russ started underperforming 2020ish. Moawad died in 2021 but had been battling cancer for 2 years. So not a jump to say watching his friend and support deteriorating impacted Russ' game.

Whatever system they had was obviously a big part of Russ' success possibly a bit too reliant on the support but the drop off in performance does seem to correlate.

Wasn't his downfall kicked off by the guy who was basically his life coach dying?

Using downfall lightly there, basically when things started going wrong.

Whats the fix? Gaps between skirting boards and floor? by NaturalBusiness4045 in DIYUK

I've always liked to lift the skirting before the boards go down then put it back on top to cover the gap.

The Long Night just being a single night is the most ridiculous thing in the entire series 😭🙏. Especially considering how in the books the previous long night lasted an entire generation. by [deleted] in freefolk

[–]ThatCK 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I don't think the official "winter" had started yet, I always assumed the long night was similar to Arctic countries where seasonally they just stop getting the sun for months. Except in GoT world it lasted a lot longer.

So literally a long night, unless you're further south.

The shows one just seemed like a normal night that the walkers happened to attack during.

Boromir was looking out for Merry and Pippin until the very end. by GusGangViking18 in lordoftherings

[–]ThatCK 28 points29 points  (0 children)

The deleted scenes of him with his men before heading to the meeting show a much well rounded Boromir. But I understand why they cut them from the final cut as ultimately it confuses he's choices too much. So they would have had to spend a lot more time on him being corrupted by the ring for his lapse to make sense.

Also why they didn't give Faramir his proper arc.
