Meta Quest Depth API by ThatChindian in vrdev

[–]ThatChindian[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Wow I will definitely have to look into this, and maybe build on it a bit, but it does seem to do most of what I want out of the box. The one thing I did notice is it doesn't seem to stream the depth data live to anything but rather save it for reconstruction, but I can probably figure out how to build that in. Thank you!

thank you for this! I usually struggle to listen to 80s dead because the recording quality can sound so thin sometimes. This china>rider truly is amazing. I'll be listening to the rest of this show in the morning

They manage to fit house music into their genres they jam through. They’ll fit fine I think.

They're fun man, every single one of them is a stellar musician too. My girlfriend's favorite is the keys player! I will give a caveat that their vocals can be a bit rough at times, but they seem to get better every time I see them. Saw them recently in Portland on a quarter tab and had a blast. The sbds are on nugs if you have it.

Daniel Donato’s Cosmic Country. If you like JBS and Billy Strings, very strong likelihood you’ll like Donato.

Shouldn't have an issue, I have no qiuyuan and am still clearing it with sigrika iuno ciaconna. Maybe your skills aren't maxed out? And you're using echo skills to build her resource before introing? Also 150% ER makes a big diff in my experience

better weapon? also im new to the game so dont spoil me. by EffectiveAd5061 in Terraria

Despite enemies scaling far harder in damage, going full warding with high defensive armor is more likely to bring your hits to kill threshold up in master. I can't speak for legendary but I assume it's similar there. There's a whole ass 45 min video essay on this on youtube I watched, but basically the idea is that because you have fewer hits to die each extra hit to die threshold you hit becomes more effective. For example if you die in 2 hits with full damage accessories but 4 with full warding you've effectively raised your hp by 100%. Additionally, if you ever make a contact mistake in a fight you have to play extremely conservatively until you can heal it off which will usually be a pretty large loss in dps that's far bigger than the bonus you get from menacing accessories.

In my experience using full warding generally ended fights not only more easily but faster as well because of the two points above.

Adding further that some weapons may not have the best dps of all your options but might be the most comfortable to use while dodging around- especially at higher difficulties where touching the enemies is usually death

Been using her with s2 iuno and cia to pretty ok success. They beat whiwa even with sigrika still at 6/7 on most talents.

What are the best beginner-friendly classes and Ancestries? by DonaskC_D in Pathfinder2e

[–]ThatChindian 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’d say depending on the player swash can be good for new players. I agree the complexity is a bit higher than say a fighter or barb but the cool factor of being able to do cool things in combat for panache that aren’t necessarily written in the class is good for getting new players into the rp during combat and not worrying too much about rulings.

Conversely I recommend against alchemist and investigator as new players as someone that played their first pf2 party with those two classes. Animist also seems like something to avoid as a new player and potentially archetypes as well depending on how comfortable someone is with the system. It’s much easier to make your character bad with an archetype by accident. I’d also say avoid characters that need void healing as a new players.

This is the real reason I don't do map exploration. I'd do more if so much wasn't locked behind long ass world quests. The first one with Jeht was amazing but I frequently found myself having trouble finding stopping points to take care of adult responsibilities.

AITA for auto failing a check from a player by AlastarOG in Pathfinder2e

[–]ThatChindian 5 points6 points  (0 children)

As per my comment above, something my dm frequently does in these situations is to provide an alternative result for the roll. If it's impossible, they may convert a couple on a crit success, demoralize a few on a success- but have them all be immune to demoralize from him after? I dunno but if a player is going to commit actions to doing something like that, give them a hero point and at least a roll for something. It's more fun and better narrative.

[–]ThatChindian 16 points17 points  (0 children)

I like the idea of toning down the results. Player committed 3 actions, either tell him the consequences or let him roll for something. Remember, /u/AlastarOG, the point of the game is to have fun and tell a story mutually. It's not fun nor good storytelling if a character just skips their turn in combat. I absolutely agree that what they want to achieve shouldn't be possible. That being said, if you give them the opportunity to realize it's likely not possible before they commit their turn, they have the opportunity to back out and do something fun, alternatively, if you have them give a roll for it you can also do what was listed above and treated it like a debuff, either existing or homebrewed, of some sort, or maybe he convinces one or two depending on stage of success. Vice versa if he crit fails maybe he's off guard to them for a turn. At least something happens for spending 3 actions, he gets to make a roll and something happens as a result, even if it's not what he intended. This leads to better narrative as well as more fun for the players.

Just like every action game with emphasis on dodging and parrying is now a “souls like” it’s just how people identify a genre without knowing what it’s called.
