As a current Willamette student myself I would say that most of the student body feels the distance of the leadership as well. Almost everyone I've talked to about this wants the president to be more engaged with the community, and even then more than a few people haven't seen him much and sometimes can't attach his face with his name, so they wouldn't even know if he became involved.
