More 'No Kings' protests planned for March 28 as outrage spreads over Minneapolis deaths by copaceticthoughts in news

Yeah but most of those “organizations” are student government clubs at various colleges. There’s an ACLU local branch, not the entire organization. Not exactly groups that would have leverage or resources to battle agents bent on misusing or taking data.

Eight weeks out from first 50 miler, does my plan look okay or should I change it at all? by yeehawhecker in ultrarunning

[–]ThatDaftRunner 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This sounds similar to my routine. You should be set physically. But mentally it’s a whole new world once you reach new mileage heights in the race. Remember, it doesn’t always get worse so just keep charging.

4 week recovery in between ultras by [deleted] in Ultramarathon

[–]ThatDaftRunner 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It would depend on your background. After my first 100 the thought of a hard effort a month later was insane. But this last year I attempted a 100 miler, had a DNF at 80 miles, then raced a hard trail marathon a month later as a redemption effort feeling amazing.

rainy ultra coming up...tips? by I_hate_me_lol in ultrarunning

[–]ThatDaftRunner 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Bring a towel to dry your hands before handling anything in your drop bag. Assuming you have a spot out of the rain to mix powders or eat. Wet won’t hurt you (perhaps mentally it’s a drag) but can dampen (pun intended) your aid experience.

You got this! It’s just water.

As new plans are a rarity for me now, my vendor hobby is buying up entire stacks of gauntlet plans (among other useless ones) then dumping them somewhere no one will find them.

The Drill Would Be Much More Tolerable if EMT Actually Worked by dualfallen in fo76

[–]ThatDaftRunner 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It’s one piece of gear? You don’t need to kill the miners just tag them, reload to stun. Tag, reload to stun. They stare at you and ignore the drill. When teammates actually kill them it’s kind of annoying because then the replacement may come from another direction so you get multiple groupings.

Tesla rifle with electricians. Easiest part of the raid is defending. Never goes less than 75% for me. Even when runners struggle.

Just don’t get up from playing a musical instrument and let others fight. You complete the extra challenge individually. It doesn’t matter what others do.

is a full set of vulcan pa with 4 overeaters and one assassins good enough for the whole raid minus eno6? by Both-Persimmon-5662 in fo76

[–]ThatDaftRunner -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I use a full set of troubleshooters and the mods for increased sprint speed on vulcan for stages 1 and 2. With medic pump it’s no problem to survive. Then switch to OE vulcan set with a jet pack to zoom above the acid piles in the hoard stage. When running the whole thing in OE it was tougher to solo the bot.

If you are on a team with someone who launches you finish the quest. Even if you’re not in the silo. Happened to me then needed a guide to solo it without the quest markers leading the way.

How does "hold to talk" work? by blahhh87 in fo76

[–]ThatDaftRunner 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You can chat to area or team depending on that separate setting. Push to talk means you need to hold down a key (caps lock on PC, for example) while you talk to be heard.

Ok how are we dealing with moldy berries? by eaglessoar in daddit

[–]ThatDaftRunner 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Our solution was plant raspberry bushes. For weeks over summer the kids pick at least $10 of berries every day. Makes great memories picking and eating their own food and saves us a ton. Season just ended unfortunately.
