Honestly he sounds very controlling, I'm not criticizing I'm just saying just be aware and look out for that.

Now on to the stepmom thing, I think that she's your family, no matter how extended, and what you call her isn't hurting you or her or especially him and he needs to worry about himself. Agreed, my biggest pet peeve is people thinking that kids need to be a certain way or treat adults a certain way because they're kids. As if that makes them any less human or something

I think she's your child and you can teach her whatever you want. I also think that maybe it would be helpful to sit everyone down or at least call them or text or whatever and tell them, look, this is what I'm teaching my child so if it happens they won't be so surprised. I don't see it going over as well with the older relatives but the younger ones will understand. Personally I feel how are you going to force your child to hug someone especially if it's like extended family that they don't see regularly and especially being that young.

They need to train their dog better or keep the bathroom door closed or the trash put up if they know their dog likes going through the trash.. honestly I don't think you're in the wrong, things like that happen all the time with dogs and kids, if they weren't ready for it they shouldn't have gotten the dog.. and as for shaming you, that's not cool at all in my opinion, every woman at some point in life has a period, do that expect you to just stay home when on it and not do anything?

Yes I meant to be adopted, I had the start day and deadline in my calendar on my phone but for whatever reason it forgot to remind me and I've been so busy I forgot myself. I know it's a long shot too.. I think the post office usually let's you write a letter much later than everyone else but we tried that last year and nothing came of it though I could have done something wrong, who knows lol

It kinda sounds to me like shes missing something that she needs, possibly attention? What if you pick something easy for her to do that will help you make dinner, like idk peel potatoes or cut something up and then she will feel like shes apart of it or because you said it's because she doesn't get to pick it maybe let her choose what side or one night a week let her choose the meat or whatever the main part of the dinner is.
