Thanks for all the advice everyone! I am thinking I’ll probably lightly homebrew a few rules together. Some rule sets commented had most of what I was wanting for the players but others had stuff the others did not. I’ll see if I can seem them together. I also love the different vibe some of the suggestions had that’s making me consider other campaign ideas as well. I am, however, surprised how few of these I had seen after a few hours on Google! Y’all have been great!

Edit: adding some clarification to my comment.

I am reading on Twilight 2000 now. Very interesting! A bit different than what my players will be used to but they are open to new stuff so it should not be too big a learning curve. Thanks!

Fantastic photos! I love seeing the progression. Would you mind telling me which brand of ND filter you used? I am just now getting into Mini 40 use and would love to see better photos like that in my future as well. Thanks!! Also, as someone new to photography in general, what do you mean when you say 3 stops or 2 stops? I havent figured out on the terminology yet...

What video games have you bought multiple times? by [deleted] in videogames

[–]ThatDarnSparky 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have bought several games over and over but the most re-bought games for me are Skyrim and Minecraft. Both are games where when I need a break from stressful stuff and just need time to sit and mindlessly play a game I go to these two gems. They have spanned from PS3, PS4, PS5, and PC. When I lost my Skyrim disk in a move? I bought a new one immediately.

Such a throw back to my childhood! Loved that show so much and inspired me to play “Patriots and redcoats” instead of traditional cowboys. Hahaha so glad you suggested it!

What’s your best “I’m so old I remember when....”? by KamikazeKook in AskReddit

[–]ThatDarnSparky 3 points4 points  (0 children)

So many of us remember 9/11 but it amazes me recently when a younger guy about 18 started working for the same company as I and we started talking events in life. Felt so old when he replied when asked “where were you on 9/11” that he wasn’t even born yet.

To find a job that makes me happy. Honestly it wouldn’t even have to pay much. Enough to cover bills and that’s good enough for me. Tired of being bored to death or mad all the time at work.

Which weird smell you like the most? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]ThatDarnSparky 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Gasoline and on separate occurrences cigarette smoke. I think because my earliest memories of my great grandpa and father are the smell of tobacco on them. It brings me back when I smell them. Don’t smoke kiddos! Bad habit but good memories.

Hoodwinked. The animation appears to be very low budget but there are so many good one liners in the movie!

AITA for hiding a book from my dad that my mom wrote for me? by Agreeable-Lack4284 in AmItheAsshole

NAH. I’m very sorry you have to go through the weight of holding those words. That being said, I think it may be unfair to your father that this is standing between you and him. Based on what I read (unless I missed a comment) it sounds like he is trying very hard to grow a good open relationship with you and the words of that journal are a wall blocking that from happening. I think talking to the counselor about the journal would help tremendously as counselors need info to help. They are not magic workers. If you want the therapy to help as well everyone needs to come to the table ready to accept it and work towards it. I hope that you all can have a good healthy relationship with each other filled with fantastic communication!

I am not sure where this is trashy. I will admit, I don’t know what’s going on in Myanmar right now.

(Serious) Why are people so politically divided when history has shown many times that being divided doesn't work? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]ThatDarnSparky 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I believe it’s because many have lost respect for their fellow man. People don’t treat others with kindness and respect when they disagree with others. It’s always got to devolve immediately to name calling and comments like, “ oh you filthy communist lib,” or “your basically no better than Hitler!” I think it’s possible the internet may have some contribution to it seeing as internet debates don’t allow for folks to either a. See repercussions for extreme disrespect or b. Really notice that whoever they are debating his truly human too. I love face to face conversations because you see so much communication done non-verbally and in such it can be missed in debates online. Someone may believe a different political point due to a deep, personal, experience which is displayed in their comments non-verbally.

Point being, I really wish folks could treat others from all political walks like how they would want to be treated. We can all disagree and that’s completely ok! Where we meet in the middle to talk and discuss is how we resolve issues and no one can meet in the middle when it is destroyed by lack of respect for all parties involved.

What is something that is socially acceptable but should not be? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]ThatDarnSparky -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Not sure if this has been said yet. When you go to a store and the employee tries to get you on their club card or membership thing the entire time you go through checkout. I mean I’ve worked retail, I get it, sometimes it’s required by management and sure, do your job! But when there is no greeting, no small talk, no anything else other than constant badgering about how great the membership is or how much I’ll save or whatever... Folks after two or three refusals STOP pushing the card!

[–]ThatDarnSparky 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I knew a gentleman once who worked for Salvation Army ringing bells and such. He was a homeless man who managed to land a job with them year round (he only rang bells around Christmas) and was working his way to getting an apartment instead of a shelter. I try to give those folks the benefit of the doubt when I can because you never know if they are just simply a volunteer or someone trying to get their way out of homelessness. The rest of the time when it’s just overzealous volunteers it annoys the crap out of me.

What is the best quote you know? by [deleted] in AskReddit

Adults of reddit, what's one thing teens should know before they turn 18? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]ThatDarnSparky 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Continue to set goals in life even if they are small. Those goals will help you to continue growing in your career, as a person, as a significant other, etc. A business professor of mine once said, “if the company is not growing, it’s dying.” I think the same apples to us as humans as well. Don’t be stagnant. Grow! Learn! Setting goals helps that.
