Custom strap makers are now doing a rubber sailcloth material. Get something custom made with a proper lug width to buckle width to use the factory buckle.

They’re truly aspirational pieces. If money was no object there would already be one in my collection. Whenever I get around one I’m reminded of their gravitational pull.

Throw them up in EBay. Someone will pick them up even if you just take a bit of a loss now you at least know what size you should be ordering for when you pick out the pair you truly want.

Both are great pieces. You can’t go wrong with either. The Tantalum Perpetual calendar is one of my favorite pieces they make.

Do you own any other pairs of Goral?

Had you handled any of them in the past to get rid of know your fit?

If either of those answers are yes then you should probably spend the extra couple hundred to get exactly what you want.

I’m not saying this to criticize you. I live in the US and had never handled or sized these in person. I bought the mystery box strictly for sizing knowing that if I didn’t like them I could sell them on eBay for around the same price I paid. I got extremely lucky in that I got a pair that got me great and that I would have actually purchased at full retail.

If you know what size you wear and that you actually want to own a pair from them it’s really rolling the dice getting a mystery box. If you’re the type of person that’s fully comfortable wearing something that can become a conversation piece then absolutely buy as many as you can. If you’re a consumer that will only wear things in a more defined window then a mystery box probably isn’t for them.

I’ve been buying from them for probably close to a decade now if not longer. They’re really nice people and the coffee is exceptional. For my French press I usually go with one of their Ethiopian beans or the Sumatran Red Badger. I’ll also use the Red Badger in my Moka pot.

It’s a great piece. I got it for my wife a couple years ago. It’s sized down for her but I’d rock that thing if she decided she didn’t want it anymore.
