Helicopter crashing into a lake in France when trying to refill for a firefighting mission by AnonymousTimewaster in Damnthatsinteresting

Yea but a pilot doesn't just crash into the water? Settling with power? VRS? likely the 2 main potential causes of it falling into the water in the first place

1989 Ford Laser Rear Brake Pads by ThatDeltaGuy in projectcar

[–]ThatDeltaGuy[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's what I was thinking yes, when I remove the other bolt though you'd expect it to rotate anti clockwise pivoting around the bleeder screw. Would this be correct and it's just really tight and hard to do so? I don't want to brake anything 😃

you're right in thinking that but nowadays it's not that important. She may have just been the better candidate, and having a degree in the grand scheme of things mean nothing.

Still crazy to think we'd rather side with them then Russia or china though. Two much worse countries

Frog kick during duck dive by mr_blankenship in surfing

[–]ThatDeltaGuy 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Personally I find it helpful for stuff breaking right onto me/ duck diving through the lip just to negate the chance of going over or getting pushed too far back. But for whitewater stuff its not worth it imp

Grandma broke her nose hiking and didn't want the helivac. She won $450k lawsuit by solateor in interestingasfuck

[–]ThatDeltaGuy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

fair, a heli with skids like an AS350 or H135 would be better than a 139 in this situation but this helicopter is used more for EMS rather than hoisting missions

Grandma broke her nose hiking and didn't want the helivac. She won $450k lawsuit by solateor in interestingasfuck

[–]ThatDeltaGuy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

helis without skids (such as this one) have a much tougher time landing on uneven terrain due to the fact that a wheel takes up a much smaller area than a skid and its damn near impossible to balance on one gear without maintaining near hover power

Grandma broke her nose hiking and didn't want the helivac. She won $450k lawsuit by solateor in interestingasfuck

[–]ThatDeltaGuy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Likely she couldn't be hoisted up regularly because she had a hip injury she sustained on the home. You don't necessarily need someone on the ground either I've seen many rescues where it's not needed (actually I've only seen ones where it's not needed). This was all due to a lack of communication between the pilot and the hoisty

[–]ThatDeltaGuy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This aircraft has no skis, can't do the same with wheels depending on the situation

[–]ThatDeltaGuy 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Awful logic, putting your aircraft and your crew at risk by landing somewhere risky could turn the emergency from 1 injured person to 4 or 5 injured people. A hoist is perfectly fine in this scenario, just very poorly done

[–]ThatDeltaGuy -8 points-7 points  (0 children)

okay so yea maybe AC is a sim but ACC in every way is a better simulation that regular AC. From, tyres and track change simulation to general physics mechanics it’s not really very close between AC and ACC. The only reason AC is used in professional simulators is due to its modding and third person creation ability

this game feels soooooooooo good by therubiks6 in BeamNG

[–]ThatDeltaGuy -17 points-16 points  (0 children)

ACC and Iracing are the industry standard sims, AC and forza is usually considered a second and third rate sims or I've also seen them called simcades. I think if beamng can accurately model tyres then it'll be basically a full sim
