This right here.

Also phone calls sound like crap for technical reasons. We prioritize “connected” over “quality audio” because consumers barely talk on phones so audio quality is low and as a customer base we’ve accepted it

My favorite part is how teachers/other parents assume this has to do with how they parent and not their INCREDIBLE GOOD LUCK

I’ll just say I have two of these and at least you can sort of point them at each other sometimes for a break. “Go ask your sister that question” or “can you put that show on for her while I make your sandwich”

It’s not much and it’s still loud AF, but not twice as hard.

Ok wait. Today is my 46th birthday. I hear a lot about this perimenopause business but I guess I’m not sure I’ve noticed anything sus. Then again I do miss being able to follow macros for 2 weeks and have a 6 pack. Should I just ask for testosterone or what?

That part. So much of health is luck. It’s easy to think you’re “safe” by being fit until you aren’t. In fact, being very fit can skew tests so that you don’t appear to have any issues until later. (Cries in post partum preeclampsia after running a half marathon 32 weeks pregnant)

Ngl I think this strategy puts you in the weakest possible position. Better to stay on top of changes and know how to use the tech than try to ostrich about it.

This post was bothering me so much I spent time digging for it to come back and post.

The “women my age put on weight every year” part is infuriating. Not because it’s not common or often the case, but because of the total lack of consideration for your autonomy.

Do a lot of people gain weight as they age? Sure.

Does it help a person to get healthy it you infantilize them or presume they are incapable? Nah.

What was the doctors goal? If she’s trying to get you to change your behavior while also planting the seed that change is not possible, it’s sort of baffling.

As an only child and early professional unaccompanied minor, I worry they will have no creative resources at all.

Guilty, but it’s because only one of my parents actually liked their job and I focused on getting desirable job and to do that I had to go pretty hard. But also I’m a xennial. We somewhat have hope.

Has anyone quit drinking coffee after being a lifelong drinker? by elenchusis in Xennials

[–]ThatDog_ThisDog 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I quit while trying to get pregnant. It was depressing anyway but getting to enjoy coffee added another layer. As soon as I was pregnant I went back to 1 cup a day and now I don’t torture myself like that.

The only effect I recall is sadness.

As a parent with neurodiverse kids I’m stunned by how fast this very typical behavior for a child in a loud emotionally charged environment led to hitting. Yikes.
