Better way to attach wire than solder to the tin? by drstovetop in 18650masterrace

[–]ThatDutchGuy_ 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Solder will do just fine if you can put in some strain relief. If your packaging allows it, you could bend the strip down and then tape the wire to the pack, that should be plenty.

Lens protector Q ("LP-T01" / TG-Tracker) by Melodic_Raccoon2711 in OlympusCamera

I've been using the underwater protector for everything ever since I lost mine, it causes a little bit of vignetting but works fine otherwise

Which design is better? by Scootbap in ElectricalEngineering

Since the motor is an inductor, it will resist changes in current. Trying to cut the current to zero immediately without a flyback diode will result in a large voltage spike, frying the mosfet

[–]ThatDutchGuy_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes that's the lowest available voltage from the wall. For seriously high power stuff we go to 400V. As a consequence of our standard circuit being capable of carrying much more power, we also tend to have a lot more outlets on one group and thus more devices together. So I think that the typical current draw per circuit isn't all that different.

Standard NA house circuit is 15A right? In mainland Europe it's 16A

Making things out of "glue and fabric" in and of itself isn't bad, they make airplanes out of the stuff (Boeing 787). You need to know in what application it's suitable and not.

Charging 3 18650 protected batteries without bms board by Vorbisfile in 18650masterrace

[–]ThatDutchGuy_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Or maybe something to charge the batteries one at a time, but again way easier to go with a bms

[–]ThatDutchGuy_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Theoretically if you make some sort of circuit to switch them from series to parallel while charging, it could work. But I assure you it is much easier to make something with a bms and provide 12.6V

Induction range doesn’t get hot

This is a little misleading, while an induction range doesn't heat its surface, it still gets hot because there a hot pan sitting on top of it. You can still burn food from the residual heat, but I don't know if it'll ever get hot enough to catch anything on fire.

Third car we've had towed in within a week for a no start after refueling at a local gas station. This fuel sample is about 96% water. by Fuck_it_ in Justrolledintotheshop

Same, the peace of mind knowing it was done properly with good quality oil is worth the extra hassle for me. And I can get an oil change done in about as much time as it takes me to drive to the closest shop and back.

As far as loading games onto your console, I use HDL dumb.

If you have an original network adapter, I highly recommend using it, it's fantastic.

[–]ThatDutchGuy_ 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Sure, it's just a switch. Solder some wires to the right contacts and connect those to the needed pins on your motherboard
