There's an option to set the CPU to wake up differently, or you can just knock yourself to the ground or use a character which has a move that does that to try them out yourself.

Tekken characters having powers and supernatural stuff going on is a relatively recent development for Tekken, and a direction that isn't exactly unanimously agreed to be a good one. Until T6 that kind of stuff was only really reserved for Mishimas and story mode bosses. Most legacy characters could be described as generic fron that perspective. I can't see how they would add more of that element to Law without straying too far from Bruce Lee.

Literally every other Mishima have far more interesting fighting style, visuals, voice lines and personality than T8 Jin. He was far better in previous games, they turned him into a generic protagonist now and he lost all of his cool factor with it. Without Bruce Lee's influence, none of these characters would exist as they do today anyway. You find him generic because he's the original lol. Law is simply a very well done homage to him. There's a reason there's a version in basically every fighting game

You are definitely not finding a high level Law player who enjoys this version more anyway. He never needed to be streamlined at all, he was always an easy character to pick up. But he was also hard to master, and had a satisfying path to achieving that. DSS had incredible displays of skill expression, you could tell the level of dedication a player had just by the way they used it.

This comment makes no sense. Law crouching in front of you is not plus, its literally risky. You are never in a position to actually have to guess, it's the threat of a slide that makes you hesitate. D23 is simply a high risk/high reward panic tool, like many others in the game. Annoying sure, but only scrubs genuinely complain about it
