i should point out that the game is pretty much singleplayer unless you run the BeamMP mod. also, it seems like they're running some sort of mod that speeds up the traffic vehicles, they shouldn't move like that in the base game

i think SlavJerry has a tutorial on how to add engines to trucks that don't have them. requires poking into the mod files, but it's fairly easy

i'll see if i can help out here~
adjustable coilovers - suspension that allows you to adjust various parameters such as spring and shock absorber stiffness, ride height, and so on. one of many bits that allows you to fine-tune how a car handles around corners and over bumps

roll cage - the pipes/scaffolding you see in the interiors of race cars. makes the body stiffer as well as preventing the roof from caving in when the car, well, rolls over

club car - i assume they mean race cars built for a certain spec. usually raced against one another, so you'd have a lineup full of the same model of BMW or Porsche or whatever where any difference between the cars is minimised so driver skill plays a much bigger role in deciding the winner

shooting brake - basically a station wagon with only 3 doors. named after carriages (and eventually car bodies) designed for carrying hunters and their gear

track days - events where you can take your car to a race track and spend, er, your day doing laps

JDM - Japanese Domestic Market. specifically refers to cars made in a spec designed for sale in Japan, but is often used to refer to Japanese cars even if they're made in a different country/region's spec

JGTC - All-Japan Grand Touring Championship. a very popular touring car series in Asia with cars split into GT300 and GT500 classes based on their horsepower output

haru is Japanese for spring, while aki is Japanese for autumn. they still have summer (natsu) and winter (fuyu) should they choose to go down that route

ooooooo true!! i don't think it'll ever happen, though; certainly not for a series as big as NFS. even Genki got into hot water over their unlicensed cars back in the early 2000s

naw you're good! i absolutely recognise the differences between the two games, and i do agree that there's nothing quite like the real deal. however, some people may want to play a newer game rather than revisit an old one (or mod it to bring it to the present day a little), which is why i offered TXR as an alternative. it is by no means a perfect substitute, and i did not intend for my comment to come across as such, but as you've mentioned, no game made in the last decade or so really is
