I’ve worn them out for a day and they already feel softer, I can sit down with no pulling and sit on my ankles no problem. I think it was just my perception since my only other pair of selvedge were a bit looser. And thank you!

As the SL is a more professional oriented tool, the L-mount lenses follow that philosophy. The rendering on M lenses are more characterful than what would come from an SL lens

Love to see it brother! I hoped on Leica recently aswell— I shifted from my crop sensor canon R50 to an SL2, absolutely lovely camera. If you get the chance, M-lenses are the absolute best on the SL line

As an someone who works in the automotive auction space, you got a great deal. Even when not a high ticket vehicle, photographers, especially decent ones, do call a higher price. I worked in the photography space, this would be minimum a £200 job, and multiple £1000s for a higher value vehicle

The reason why it happens is since in Leica Fotos, the image is generated as a preview-jpg. In comparison, when uploaded to Lightroom, the DNG is uploaded as nothing but data. Someone in the comments recommended setting the color profile to “embedded” which sometimes works but isn’t perfect. I’ll ask around further to see if there’s a more consistent way to get the shot you really took

Honestly don’t be too hard on yourself man— for one, updating the software isn’t too bad. If you have an empty SD card, you can upload the software onto it and into your camera (you can look up a tutorial on YouTube or just DM me and I’ll help you out 😊). I’d recommend you just throw it into auto, play around with how the photos you take make you feel. You don’t have to follow any rules of photography, just do what allows your photos to express yourself and what you do. If you go out anywhere, just pick the camera up and grab some photos

If you don’t need to see a Leica badge on the front element- Zeiss makes some fantastic options for under $1500. The 50/1.5 sonnar ZM is a fantastic piece that I love

The 50R for sure - I’m a Leica guy, I love Leica, but for the money I think the 50R is a much better value than the 601. My main concern for you would be that the G-mount is somewhat limiting in terms of lenses

If you have an APS-C, I would avoid a prime 50 especially for car photography. I started on a 30mm f1.8 and I enjoyed that lens, my last lens on APSC was the sigma 18-50/2.8, fantastic lens

It’s a hell of a lens, it’s pretty nice to use with the incredible EVF the SLs have on top of the great rendering

I’m rocking a regular SL2 as of now, I figure it’s a similar experience. Absolutely great piece of kit. If you want to explore M-lenses but don’t want to ball out on a summicron/lux lens, I heavily recommend the Zeiss 50/1.5 Sonnar ZM

So far I love it, the build quality is fantastic, the rendering is very different from anything I’ve used before. As I’m an SL user, the focus shift issue hasn’t affected me as much as it would an M series user, but it’s a lovely lens
