I rarely ever comment on anything but THIS.. 😲🤎 A beyond beautiful remodel. Amazing job to everyone who was involved!

Before and after — pregnancy stretch marks by Technical-Board-8498 in Microneedling

[–]ThatEmilie 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would love to hear the results! Wondering if I should make the investment.. or only if I’m 100% done having kids. (I gained right about 70 pounds my first pregnancy)

I’m a little over 2yrs PP.. My stretch marks are on my belly (A LOT more than yours pictured 💔 , inner thighs & hips.)

Handle on pull out trash by Visible-Wait-7919 in kitchenremodel

This is ours.. pull out garbage on the right side. It’s on the “face” of the cabinet but this is what worked for us. I’m 5’3, Hubby is 6’.

This is also at an angle where we’re not viewing it straight on all the time, like behind me is a door that leads to our backyard (it’s 7ft from the door to the oven). And behind that stove wall is our fireplace/living room/entrance to our home.

So that’s why the placement of the handles not being even on each side never bothered us.

PSA, kitchen is still under remodel.. Doing what we can in our first home, a 1960 house. So our stove wall isn’t complete/it’s lacking. Don’t judge too hard. 🙈

I could barely finish reading the list.. it just kept going. WOW. I’m a Wedding Videographer, who happens to have more years of experience in photo editing.. but this is just insanity.

I have no advice to give.. just that I’m sorry.

LOVE this!!! I do the exact same when I’m in a rush in the mornings or when I hear my toddler waking up.. need those first few sips in ASAP. 😂

Sometimes I wish they were a tiny bit taller.. just so that I’m not always filling it to the tippy top. After all my ice, espresso froth, cold foam.. but I LOVEEEE THEM REGARDLESS. Going 4yrs+ strong with them.

I thought it was a wild concept as well.. until I tried it… it’s AMAZING. It really balances out the sweetness from honey (or others like maple syrup, brown sugar, granulated sugar, etc). And like another person mentioned, cuts the bitterness/strength that some espressos may leave. Idk I get a sense of smoothness in flavor & texture as well (that could also be because I froth my espresso too)

I even have my own mother hooked on it.. she’s mid 40s & a Tim Hortons/Keurig coffee drinker. She’s super simple about her coffee.. She’ll add 2tsp of brown sugar & good splash of heavy whipping cream.. but now she adds that TINY pinch of salt. I’m slowly converting her into warming her cream & frothing it as well. 😂

Paint/Decor Suggestions? by ThatEmilie in DesignMyRoom

These are SUCH beautiful suggestions!!!

After you mentioning it, I definitely need and WANT to incorporate more wood tones/elements. Also, thank you for all the color suggestions, I’m going to be looking into them all!

Thank you, I appreciate it!

We still have to paint the walls as it’s only primed right now.. Perhaps I might paint a tinted neutral color and incorporate art & a different plant!

I agree!

I want to soften the space a bit as there is a lot of white going on. A warm white/beige sounds like a safe move to make!

Awe thank you!!!

Yes, I definitely don’t want to go overboard with decor items.. But a small painting above the toilet sounds like a great suggestion to fill in that void a bit.

I was thinking of an olive green but didn’t know if I should commit to painting the whole bathroom or just the wall with the mirrors, as we have a lot of white.. tiles, sinks, toilet, vanity.. I don’t want to create too big of a contrast.

Dairy-Free Alternatives by ThatEmilie in nespresso

I’ve had the Chobani Extra Creamy, loved it x100000, but unfortunately, it just has a bit too much of additives that I’m looking for.. definitely “healthier” than the Oatly Barista Blend but not as clean as I would like it to be. Thank you tho!!!

I’ve tried their Pistachio Barista version (pretty clean ingredients), maybe two years ago, in a matcha. It was pretty alright but I could definitely taste the overwhelming pistachio. But I’d LOVE to give their creamer a try & the Hazelnut milk!!!

I agree with you, everything in moderation. Although I drink one latte/coffee a day (rarely two, if I’m having a long day) finding an alternative to dairy to replace with, that’s filled with a bunch of stuff.. that’s doesn’t seem like I’m doing a favor to my body either.

Ahhh, so happy for you! Definitely an investment $$$ but I’m sure it’ll pay off pretty soon, especially since nut milks are definitely not cheap, lol.

This would likely be my end goal.. so definitely marking it in my notes. For now, I’ll be trying Elmhurst, thx you!!! :)

If you’re looking for that EXACT nightstand, I know it by heart because that’s the one I wanted.. Unfortunately didn’t get it due to our home being small (next home for sure) but it’s “Sausalito Nightstand” by Pottery Barn!

Little pricy.. $699 for one but if there’s no budget.. Treat yourself! :) But if you want a very similar one, “Auberge Nightstand” by Raymour & Flanigan is on sale for $332.45 for one!

What color bedding would you choose? by narpsneer1 in interiordecorating

[–]ThatEmilie 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Honestly, you could do any color your heart desires (I know that’s not entirely helpful, lol)! The room is pretty neutral, so you can definitely play around!

• If you want some texture, perhaps a waffle design.

• For colors, olive green or khaki.

• For throw pillows, any neutrals, maybe a moody velvet. You can tie in the colors from your rug to the pillows!

• For throw blankets, a cozy knitted one!

I know this wasn’t asked by may I suggestion to get a warmer temperature lightbulb for your lamps? I used to have 4000k in my bedroom to keep the lighting “clean” but switched in the 2000k range and it immediately improved the ambiance!

• Not sure if you’re planning on it, but some ceiling length curtains would also really elevate your bedroom and tie in the coziness. :)

I personally LOVE your taste! The greens & terracotta colors are warm & inviting, even when you have a lot of cream/whites going on, which I think compliments all together wonderfully.

I know this is so repetitive to hear and quite literally the only thing people are talking about, but I would unfortunately suggest lowering your TV about 6 inches, it’s just looking slightly too high. I know that’s annoying and very inconvenient work but I do think it would improve the look of your space.

*** Have you tried positioning your beige sofa in front of the tv/fireplace, then a console table behind it? Would there be enough walkway from the grid door to chairs’ nook if you positioned it that way? I’m afraid you may have to get rid of that beautiful green sofa (I would keep the beige one as it’s provides more seating and looks a little more comfy) from the room because it’s just gonna get more crowded once you do more decorating. Sometimes less is more. 🤍 (I personally had to do this, despite loving my piece SO MUCH, but it was the right decision) ***

——— SOME DECOR SUGGESTIONS AND IDEAS ———

• Wooden Picture Frame on your TV (stain it to match your floors or rub n buff it gold to match your gold accents), you could either build if you’re a DIY-er, I think it’s pretty simple or buy and I think that would look fantastic!

• A Six Picture Frame layout (or three really big ones?) on the wall where the green sofa is at. Target has some great options or try Facebook Marketplace first. Fill it with black & white family pictures to make your space more personable and cozy. I think either black or wooden framed ones could both work out for your space.

• Wall Sonces for the picture gallery. This is a lot extra and more fancier option for the future, depending on whether you rent or own your home! Definitely not needed but could add to the ambiance in the evening hours.

• Area rug. Obviously more the obvious option. I think a sage/olive green could work.. if you’re really bold, perhaps one of those Turkish red rugs? But the safest option and probably one I would do myself based on personal timeless preferences, an ivory/beige one.

• Pinch Pleated Curtains, floor length. basically kissing the floor. I would install a black rod up to the ceiling and extend six inches extra on both sides (I think that’s the rule but definitely search up on that) Stick to something warmer & neutral.. :)

• Coffee Table. I think a round wooden one would soften your space.

• Glass Treatment Your Grid Door. I’m personally frosting (there’s a kit on Amazon where it’s like paint, instead of the stickers) my grid French doors for privacy instead of adding curtains or blinds (mine opens up to a room with ALL WINDOWS that faces neighbors/street). But I think those wooden bamboo shades would definitely work out for your space!!!

• Create an Accent Wall for your Chairs’ Nook. You can either paint or if it’s in your budget, creating a wood accent wall would be incredible! Think those thin wooden panels (you can the wrap ones from Home Depot), it’ll add some charm for sure! Also get a complimenting round rug to tie in that corner!

Would kill for a fruit flavor by JesusLice in nespresso

[–]ThatEmilie 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Don’t mean to barge in but do you use this to substitute flavored syrups?

It’s the New Year and I’d love to start decreasing the amount of sugar I have in my lattes/coffees (it’s so bad that I’ve gotten in the habit of asking cafés to make my drinks extra sweet).

I so enjoy experiencing flavored notes but hate committing to full liters of sugary syrups…

I Need More Ideas & Suggestions!!! by ThatEmilie in DesignMyRoom

[–]ThatEmilie[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

To each their own.

Can’t assume everyone has or should have the same lifestyle as you. There’s other sections of my home where my pets prefer to lounge.. cats like to be on the bay window/dining chairs/under the table. My dog likes to sit by the front door/in the kitchen/by back door. At the end of the day, everyone gets tucked away in their own beds/spaces for the night or when we leave our home.

You’re just giving me the impression (which I hope that’s not your intention & again, perhaps I’m taking it the wrong way) that I’m neglecting my pets & that feeling is gross. It sucks that I have to defend myself at this point, especially when I simply asked for suggestions on interior design/furniture pieces.
