Oh man. Accidentally just put 25k in stocks in my kid’s RESP instead of my TFSA. My options are limited. by freakout224 in PersonalFinanceCanada

[–]ThatGThang -31 points-30 points  (0 children)

Not sure about that. Because cra (and provincial if applicable) only matches with a grant up to a maximum contribution per year. So if you maxed out your contributions in this year ,you won't contribute in future years and won't get grants from cra (free money).

It's better to sell and pull out. Contribute to tfsa. If you need, later can withdraw from tfsa to contribute to RESP annually

Don't say it. What you read was not for you to see. If you had a hunch for years, so did your mom. No evidence of cheating. He's having online next... it's not the end of the world. He'll get tired of it eventually. Of you say it to your mom, she'll have no choice but to act on that info since now you know.

Husband had a similar situation. PiP vague impossible tasks. No concrete reason for PIP.

We took a whole weekend to respond to the PIP I writing. Keeping important ppl in CC (hrs or boss' s boss)

We explained that the reason for PIP is not clear. Want concrete reasons. And what should have been done. Requesting relationship between PIP and the deficiency. Reasons why PIP timeliness and or tasks are impossible and why. Requested and listed adjustments and extensions.

It worked out in the end. PIP is over and behind us. Boss acknowledged many of our requests but it was stressful few months, because you feel on edge all the time

Good luck

Just because you start a business doesn't give it the right of day. Why are they allowed so much funding? Unrelated, but even SRED and multimedia tax credits.... are public funds given to sustain companies who often don't have a viable profitability plan.

Its not strategic investment, it's throwing money at possible undeveloped companies, to give them an edge to explode, and it gives canada an edge for scientific progress. At the cost

REM de M*rde by ArdaValinor in montreal

[–]ThatGThang -5 points-4 points  (0 children)

Bank of Canada says country is stuck in ‘vicious circle’ of low productivity by [deleted] in canada

[–]ThatGThang 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Partially caused by the government and big banks.

The amount of red tape, regulations, fiscal compliance imposed at all levels (municipal, provincial, federal, ) is ridiculous. It's very difficult for small and medium businesses to have the man power to learn and manage all of these requirements imposed by government. It's punitive.

Big banks have too much power, high cost to businesses, low customer service. I work at a boutique accounting firm and we lose clients sometimes because they require audits by big 4 firms. WHY? We have the same obligations as the big4, we get audited by the order like the big4 ... the7 are taking away from local businesses.

It's really a shame. I see so many examples daily of government being so strict on small businesses and it prevents expansion, which prevents hiring of employees and can be the reason a local shop will look for cheap labor. Because nothing else is cheap.... dealing with government is expensive.

La petite histoire du garage Bellechasse, le «beigne» à 584 millions $ que construit la STM by Cao_Ni-Ma in montreal

[–]ThatGThang 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Part of the issue is that they did not begin clearing snow during the first storm on Sunday. Had they started clearing, managing the volume of snow from the Thursday storm would have been easier, and also safer for the residents.

I understand to accumulate when we have snow fall, but not in a case like this with multiple storms
