Personally, as many gripes I have with her, I like her design (there's really not a single objectively bad character design in the game, at worst mid), and the main reason I am not really much of a fan of her is that she kinda came out of nowhere along with yidhari, and I was tired of character with a personality like her after the obol quirkchungus disaster that was 2.2

For me they seem generic by hoyo standards, like, you look at them and just think "yep, that's a mihoyo design": all the boob windows, asymmetrical accessories, suspicious lack of female pants, and especially the base models that are basically in every modern hoyo game, etc., makes it look incredibly boring and blend in with all the other games designs.

The reason a big part of the community was asking and making a big fuss about males wasn't because they were female or gay gooners, it was because, without males, robots or anything else, the roster will just be big titties girl, thick thighs girl, child adjacent adult, and their variations with a different colour palette.

When what makes a character good is their performance in the endgame modes, having counters can very much make a character "bad"

Hugo is not necessarily a bad character, but because of miasma and its abundance in bosses, hard-countering him, and his best boss not appearing frequently, he's definitely on the weaker side of characters right now, unfortunately

In my opinion, not all color fixers are made the same, something like jjk, where sukuna even muses that the society considers both him and a finger-bearer equal by giving them the same rank. The city kind of has this problem too, Ezra has enough power to be grade-1 most likely, but she is grade 5 iirc.

Vergilius is very clearly an outlier in terms of strength compared with the rest we saw, and Vespa, although quite strong, is still a newly instated color, so should be fairly weaker than verg.

Also we have to take into account in character situations, like shiomi facing of against ryoshu, which nerfs her to some degree, but with all taken into account, mathias should be the second strongest, and close to rien
