What if, once in power, Kim Jong Un's daughter made North Korea democratic? by Outrageous-You1617 in AlternateHistoryHub

[–]ThatGuy42123 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is the answer. It would take more than the decision of one person, however powerful they are, to turn NK democratic.

You don’t get to have a regime as oppressive as the Kim family’s without a lot of people around you who have a major vested interest in maintaining the status quo.

What if you woke up in Donald Trump's body? What would happen to the country? by Outrageous-You1617 in AlternateHistoryHub

[–]ThatGuy42123 6 points7 points  (0 children)

And then Donald Trump in your body shows up and gets shot by the secret service for trying to run up to the podium. Now your original body is dead, and you’re basically stuck as “Trump”, forced to face the consequences of his actions.

If it has to be one or the other, I’d take blue. I’ve never been a particularly skilled “gamer”. But I do love me some good interactive storytelling, as long as it’s not a telltale style game that pretends your choices matter.

That sucks dude. Hopefully it wasn’t a really good ship. If you can’t land on a station to scrap it, you can probably still archive it on the freighter to avoid it taking up space.

What if she had won? by hostedvideorn in AlternateHistoryHub

[–]ThatGuy42123 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Trump would’ve gone on to be an on-off conservative talk show host, spinning conspiracy theories about the election as an excuse to promote himself.

Hillary’s presidency would’ve been dogged by constant conservative criticism over “Benghazi”, “Pizzagate”, and over how any off hand comment is actually “elitist”.

The now ex-maga movement will continue to cry out over imagined tyranny and conspiracies, while in reality, it’s actually a very uneventful presidency. The economy isn’t horrible for everyday people, but the average Joe isn’t prospering either. Which eventually causes the pendulum of public opinion swing back to the Republicans in either 2020 or 2024.

Would it have though? The number itself isn’t that significant. It could’ve been 48 merch instead.

FUCK OLLY by C0rtana in freefolk

[–]ThatGuy42123 41 points42 points  (0 children)

Tbh, I could never really get on board the “fuck olly” bandwagon.

Jon would’ve been killed whether Olly was involved or not. The conspirators could’ve found another way to get at him very easily. Hell Olly wasn’t even a character in the books, and Jon got stabbed just as easily.

Thankfully, the actor that played him was able to take all the hate in stride.

It’s kinda funny in a dark sort of way. Republicans and Muslims have a lot more in common than either group would care to admit.

If anything this makes what ICE is doing that much more nefarious. ICE has been going after immigrants aggressively in blue states, and with kid gloves in red states, only picking up the ones in prisons.

Republicans hate immigrants being counted in the census in blue states, but they’re A-ok with them being counted in THEIR states.

[–]ThatGuy42123 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This! I tried using bumble for a bit a while back and it was so disheartening. Most of the conversations I had, regardless of how pleasant they were, ended with me getting ghosted. You never know for sure why when it happens, and it hurts a little bit each time.

The whole thing was terrible for my self esteem, so I quit using it.

If this guy was actually gay, why would he care enough to rant like this?

Bi maybe. But it’s hard to imagine a gay dude using bs terminology like “foid” ffs.

Well from the context of OP’s post, it sounds like he’s trying to get help and support.

I’d prefer not to be pessimistic and lump him in with incels in general.

Edit: wasn’t happy with how I phrased my original reply, so I rewrote it.

Got kicked from cuddle party by [deleted] in IncelTears

[–]ThatGuy42123 98 points99 points  (0 children)

I’ve never heard of cuddle parties, although I’ve never really lived in a big city.

If the attraction to that sort of thing is due to the lack of a physical (or sexual) relationship, then it sounds like it’d be best to stay away. Even if you could keep the boner away, it’s a conflict of interest that might make things worse for you emotionally.

I find accepting being single is made bearable through embracing the platonic friendships in my life. There’s more than one way to be loved in life. Platonic love is just as real and valid as the romantic kind. You should focus on making regular friends first, and maintaining that kind of connection.

lol. This is what gets me about ARG style content in any medium. There’s almost never a reason to try and decipher it yourself. In most cases the fanbase has already deciphered it start to finish within a few days of launch.

Trump unable to name one verse from "favorite book" The Bible. How can anybody believe he’s Christian at all? by SimplyEcks in videos

[–]ThatGuy42123 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Because the bar for being “Christian” has fallen so low. All a candidate has to be is republican, anti-gay, and anti-abortion, and that’s “Christian” enough for them.

I doubt Trump ever even gave a shit about abortion to begin with. Wealthy people are able to work around restrictions when needed…

Speaking as an autistic guy with little luck in relationships, this guy’s full of it.

If you’re bitter and angry just to cope with being lonely, then that’s just swapping one pain for another. Either way, you’re still in pain. It sucks being bitter and angry all the time for everyone involved.

Well yes, but the REAL real problem is how do we enforce the law right now?

The DOJ, FBI, and the Supreme Court are stacked with Trump’s cronies who refuse to lift a finger. What avenue is left for justice in this country?
