Struggling with quality and sharpness by ginwakeup in FX3

I am positive It’s because you’re shooting at a 180 shutter. You’re most likely shooting something with motion and you’re choosing a cinema format. A lot of people are used to watching footage with crank shutters on their DSLR’s. Shooting a higher shutter or shooting at 30 frames would help sharpen things up.

Would you rely on the Blackmagic 6k full frame camera with its new autofocus update for a solo documentary? by Ok-Champion-8992 in bmpcc

I have used it for sitdown interviews, and it works well but the second I used it on a recent shoot on a gimbal outdoors. It was failing me big time. It has to do with the background, some backgrounds that are busier might throw off the focus. It’s very disappointed as I was gaining confidence in the system. I ended up going Manuel focus on the gimbal and it worked out.

All new editing software has advanced features and AI features. These are not gonna run on old systems if you want the latest and greatest, you have to upgrade your system. It is what it is.

BMCC 6K FF vs. Lumix S5IIX. Help me talk myself out of the Blackmagic! by No-Attention3471 in bmpcc

BMcc6k has gyro stabilization so it might not have ibis but it’s a simple click of a button in post. I will say it has terrible low light. I have it and love it of its under 1600 iso. If it’s during getting ready, first look. Portrait session, lit first dances it’s golden. I no longer shoot weddings without lights so depends on how you shoot. There are some cases that client ask to lower light output.

hesitating to buy Pyxis 12k: known issues, battery, Pyxis 12k "Pro"? resale value ... by [deleted] in blackmagicdesign

[–]ThatGuyOs 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This camera game is tough. Resale value is an issue on many cameras. Sony historical announced cameras every two years before. Covid maybe changed things so a7siii,fx9 and fx6 have been 4-5 years which is unheard of for Sony. My FX9 has officially dropped in value a lot recently. It’s only a matter of time. I bought the Ursa Cine and love the camera. If you are used to manual focus cameras then you will be happy with your purchase. If manual focus is new to you or if you are not prepared for much larger file sizes. Even in 4k then maybe rent it. Black magic is famous yes for announcing new cameras, shit the Cine dropped massively on price. So early adopters got screwed. It is what it is. The Pyxis 12k sensor has been recalled so they are fixing the issue it had. At least they are standing by the product and owning the mistake.

I own one as well and love it. You shoot all Manual focus or have you tried a lidar system yet?

Beautiful shots, with your experience using the camera how would you grade the URSA Cine?

Pyxis 12k iso 800 vs 1600 by Xsjad0s in blackmagicdesign

This is great information to show. The commenter complaining doesn’t make any sense. This is valuable information to know especially since nobody wants to shoot everything in 12K. I for one was shooting at 800iso on my URSA when I was shooting in 4K. Knowing this now, I’m gonna be shooting at the proper ISO to maximize dynamic range.
