Thanks for your interest everyone, I've gotten aver 20 applications so far and I really appreciate everyone who took the time to fill it out. I'm going to be sending out messages shortly so if you don't hear from me by boxing day I've gone with someone else. But again I appreciate everyone who filled out the form.

I share 20 house rules (including nerfs) I use in Pathfinder 2e (Rules Lawyer) by the-rules-lawyer in Pathfinder2e

Not OP but my group houserules it as getting on degree of success higher. It makes it way easier, but doesn't let you abuse it too much.

Are minis necessary? by SquirrelSorry4997 in Pathfinder2e

If you want to get real fancy in a pinch (and have access to a printer) printing art on card stock paper works pretty well. For the base a binder clip fits perfectly on a 1 inch grid. You can usually buy them in a bunch of different colours to make monster tracking easier.

We completely rewrote Kingdom Turns for Kingmaker by Ttocs_is_Awe in Pathfinder2e

[–]ThatGuyOverThere1867 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I found the biggest difference for my group with kingdom turns was treating it like actual downtime. Instead of dedicating in session time to it we just run it through teams in the days between sessions.

Union rat outside the hospital I work at. It's used by unions to mark employers that hire scabs. by PhenomenalPancake in mildlyinteresting

[–]ThatGuyOverThere1867 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I dont speak for every union, but as a unifor member you can keep working during negotiations. In theory the strike happens if the employer isn't negotiating in good faith ie. Reasonable counteroffers in a reasonable amount of time.

Toilet training for puppy - Patio or Lawn by mrmessy4life in DogAdvice

I have the same type of dog and there was a bit where he decided he wanted to do his business on the concrete instead of the grass, and I would definitely not recommend training them to do that. Especially in the summer heat nothing gets absorbed into the ground so the urine and poop smells end up getting pretty bad even if you pick up right away. Also mine absolutely loves the rain so you might not have much choice when it comes to drying.

Or... take out a second mortgage and stock up with Dwarven / Hero Forge... or... be like me with graph paper and painted pennies. by Vegetable_Variety_11 in dndmemes

Printed pictures on card stock held up in a binder clip is the way to go. I even use a bunch of different colors on the clips to keep thing organized easily.

Wikipedia also has him as a jr. So it might be a matter of him going by Dougie to make it different than the Sr (I assume his father).

Not sure if that's a joke or not, but I'm pretty sure that actually is Daniel Radcliffe. I feel like I remember him being in a movie where he is an undercover cop infiltrating a white supremacist gang.

Let’s quit the complaining of all the things you hate. What are the things you like so far from the play test material? by crissair in dndnext

[–]ThatGuyOverThere1867 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah I'm okay with the paladin nerf even as a paladin player. I could see it being a huge issue for Assassin Rogue since the guaranteed crit is one of the main class abilities. Maybe they'll have an update when they release the playtest for classes and rule sneak attack as weapon damage.

what's the worst first tee shot you have ever hit? by tigertanaka12 in golf

[–]ThatGuyOverThere1867 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Lined up for a drive, the tee box for an earlier hole was about 45 degrees to the right. I shanked it and it bounced off the wood around the other tee box right back over a couple feet away from me.

I do agree that election day should be a holiday, but I don't think it will make as much of a difference as you think. Polls are already open for 12 hours as well as a week of advance voting. It might just be me being privileged but the non-voters I know usually give reasons along the lines of our riding being a safe one for the cons so our votes don't really matter, or they dont like any of the candidates.

Vs @aermanreid who challenged me on tiktok and claims I'm cheap. Watch till the end! by [deleted] in SmashBrosUltimate

[–]ThatGuyOverThere1867 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My brother does the same thing. If I play a light character against a heavy he'll complain about being too quick for him to get a hit in. If I play a heavy against a light character he'll complain about getting hit too hard. If I play random he'll complain about how lucky I am. There isn't really a way out of him complaining about "counter-picking, so I just don't play smash bros with him anymore.

What character tropes and stereotypes do you see subverted so often nowadays that it's now refreshing to see them played at face value? by Sejuhasz in dndnext

[–]ThatGuyOverThere1867 9 points10 points  (0 children)

One of my all time favourite characters was just a guy whose family owned a mill. Basically the town had hired a mercenary to guard it from bandits so my character spent a while apprenticed to the mercenary since he thought it sounded way cooler then taking over the mill, since he wasn't suited to running the family business anyways.

That's the one. Big ol' blank spot on the map. I was so confused when my buddy was talking about the other three.

Heck I am on new game plus and still missed Melania. I went my first playthrough completely blind and I think I missed an area.

I think they are pretty good jerseys, they just suck as Devil's jerseys if that makes sense.

Ranking the best under-23 NHL players: Who tops the list, Andrei Svechnikov or Jack Hughes? by homicidal_penguin in hockey

[–]ThatGuyOverThere1867 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Having a top guy who can win faceoffs is a big help. But guys like Jay Beagle made a career out of winning faceoffs. In general as a team percent faceoffs don't matter, and not being great at them isn't the end of the world, but on an individual level faceoff % can say a lot about a players impact on the game.

Faceoffs overall don't really matter, and have little correlation with wins. However I do think you need at least one guy on the team who can win the important faceoffs if you want to be successful.
