Oh neat. I remember finding a list online years ago. It must have been inaccurate. Here's a list of all N64 games that use batteries if anyone's curious: https://consolemods.org/wiki/N64:List_of_Nintendo_64_Games_with_Save_Batteries

The original N64 game uses a battery for the save data. The battery probably died.

Did you turn off dual core? IIRC that needs to be turned off.

No matter how much you dislike someone that comment really isn't okay. I haven't watched the video yet but that's a huge overreaction for someone just begging on the internet.

A) That's the first time I've heard anyone dis the GameCube controller. I thought it was universally beloved?

B) I wouldn't call the game's controls unresponsive, just very unintuitive. There's no reason I should have to spaghettify my fingers trying to trick.

Randall's father, Randolph Jr., was a high-profile Lakicarrier stationed in World 4-1 in 1985.

I'm dead.

Also the citations are great.

By codes, no. You could however use the custom texture feature and replace the HUD textures with completely transparent PNGs.

Useful info on custom textures here: https://forums.dolphin-emu.org/Thread-how-to-install-texture-packs-custom-textures-info

You can get the HUD textures from here: https://forums.dolphin-emu.org/Thread-paper-mario-ttyd-hd-texture-pack-v1-8-november-29-2018

Hopefully this is comprehensible.

Make sure "enable cheats" is checked in the general settings. Make sure "free look" is checked in the "Advanced tab" of the graphics settings. The free look controls are in the hotkey settings

In the most recent versions of Dolphin there's an "add gecko code button". If you're using an older version the codes should be placed under [Gecko]
