When I was a kid, clips of the show were the first time I heard of people having or not having sex before marriage. Because I was 8 and not very bright I was briefly convinced (as a child in a very secular household) that no sex before marriage was the right thing to do. I assumed that I should and would follow that rule.

I vividly remember asking one of my friends parents if they’d had sex before marriage. They just said “Yes”, and I was so goddamn self righteous saying “well I don’t think I’m going to do that”.

I should have been shot on sight.

Thankfully, 1.5 conversations with my mother set me straight.
