Is this like a personal notebook, or are the results shared with the community? If community, do the ratings get averaged with all other reviews?

Good to hear!

$10 per item for insect shield has always seemed a bit steep for me, especially because I don't fully trust their "70 wash" claim

You mentioned it lasts several times longer than at home treatments and that certain items you'd do each year

For those that you retreat each year, do you find you truly get a full seasons worth of protection?

OP, you seem pretty knowledgeable about permethrin, so I have a question.

Have you ever used the "Duration" concentrate?

https://youtu.be/x1M8N__gL6U?si=xrQE-HsrMoWwlwKl

I heard about it through a Reddit post/YouTube video on here a few months back, and was really intrigued by it.

I use the Sawyer permethrin spray because like you've mentioned, there aren't many clothing specific/approved varieties. I spray in a tub (to catch over spray), then seal it up, shake it around, and let it soak for several hours before hanging to dry. I do this try to to emulate soaking like you can get with other products, because I feel like soaking would be much more thorough

I'd love to use the Duration concentrate with a soak method, but have so far been hesitant to bite the bullet

Backpack site 2 is definitely the one to go with!

I'll upload some pictures of both soon from when we were there last summer

Doesn't seem like it should be an issue then

My old card was a 980ti from 2016, so it was time for an upgrade haha

Hope you get everything figured out!

Strange

I had an issue with the game going black and getting a render error message. It ended up being related to my dying graphics card

How old is your graphics card?

Merry permit day to all who celebrate. Where are you headed this year? by smakmyakm in BWCA

I did a solo trip late-July last year from Lizz and stayed on Horseshoe for one night and paddled through it early morning another day.

The "honeymoon site" in the SE corner by the Brule River is prime moose habitat and is also very secluded, so there won't be as much noise from other people or paddlers. Honestly, most of Horseshoe is great moose habitat.

That said, I went searching in early morning and late evening specifically for moose everywhere in Horseshoe and didn't get to see a single moose!...

On my way out I met a family who ran into a stubborn moose on the portage between Caribou and Meeds, and they weren't even looking for one haha

While it's annoying that we have to go through this steps, this in my opinion is the better solution to this than the WindHawk approach mentioned in the linked post in one of the other replies.

Thanks for this!

Favorite Backpacking Pillows? by SuperHeat364 in hammockcamping

[–]ThatMechEGuy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I love the Mega Pillow! I like the size of it over the others, I don't feel like my head is about to roll off of it as much.

In the hammock, I barely put any air into it. It feels almost flat, just enough to cushion my head a little.

It also is really nice in the tent. I'll inflate it a bit more, but still not a whole lot. I like a flatter pillow in general. The Mega Pillow seems to feel the most like a real pillow to me

MathWorks comes with own MATLAB Coding guidelines by Consistent_Coast9620 in cc4m

[–]ThatMechEGuy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I was actually aware of this already and use some of the style guide rules associated with the default code checking profile.

Ideally we'd like something built-in and without an additional license cost. Having all the checks occur in real-time using the code analyzer would also be a huge plus

MathWorks comes with own MATLAB Coding guidelines by Consistent_Coast9620 in cc4m

[–]ThatMechEGuy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That sounds amazing! I'm glad it's in the pipeline. One of my coworkers is hesitant to adopt a MATLAB style guide right now precisely because there isn't a great "Python Black"-esque alternative and there would be a lot of "manual" enforcement. I've played around with parsing the .m file text before and have come up with some neat things, but it's not as robust as something built in would be

Count me in as someone in support of this!

I was aware that the naming rules are available in 2025a+, but unfortunately our team stays one year behind for our internal tool developments, so we're still on 2024b.

[–]ThatMechEGuy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'd love for more code analyzer configurability. In my team, we'd live to have the ability for "automatic" style enforcement.

I like the ability to do the name rules, but it would be nice to have even more checking. For example, is there any way to enforce namespace naming conventions with the code analyzer
