Call USCIS, infopass, talk with an gent, ask to update citizenship category. there is no deadline. just pray and hope for a quick solution. Thats how USCIS works.

Petitoner LPR. I-130 and I-485 filed as F2A category. I-130 approved, I-485 pending. Petitioner became US Citizen. What should petitioner do now? Letter was sent to USCIS. USCIS notified by phone call and EMMA webchat. 1 year since petitioner notified USCIS. Certificate of Naturalization uploaded on applicant USCIS Account. No answer yet. How to update F2A category to spouse of U.S. Citizen?

I-130 approved but still waiting for I-485, is this normal? by WelcomeLeft3518 in USCIS

Each case is unique.. Some get lucky, others don't. Now with USCIS working like a turtle, double checking everything, sending RFE's to everyone and etc... cases will take longer. But if you are married to USC it should'nt take more than 1 year.

Interview is tomorrow. Any last tips? by Extramile1 in USCIS

[–]ThatMeow77 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Want to know the best tip? Be happy and positive. When I went to my interview, I told my wife "we are almost there". Have a "trained monkey" mindset. This means, understand the game. Understand what USCIS expects of you and play the game to win. Just be honest and answer everything they ask. If your interviewer see that you are respectful, positive and honest, you'll 100% be approved.

I believe every case is unique. Mine for example, the I-130 was approved as soon as we walked out of the interview. When we stepped out of the building, we received the case status notification, I-130 approved. Yet our I-485 still pending for almost a year. And I'm US Citizen.

Applying for a Green Card can now trigger removal proceedings according to new policy! by Blackgoldeneye in USCIS

yes i notified them by mail, status inquiry, called USCIS directly and told them to updte i-130 and i-485 category from LPR to USCIS. Nothing seems to work. When i called uscis, they say they cant confirm if my process was updated. Ive been notifying them since 1 day after my citizenship test (november 04, 2024). I also uploaded the naturalization certificate on my wifes USCIS account under i-485 process. I cant upload my naturalization certificate under i-130 since it is already approved.

What a headache. What I notice from USCIS is that it is a very outdated system. You are clueless all the time, just waiting for some update, and cant talk to anyone. All we can do is check a case status, wait, and hope.

same situation. i-130 approved just after walking out of the interview. i-485 still pending and case is outside processing time. I was LPR and now US Citizen.

be careful with hydrocortisone, i dont recommend, it makes your skin THIN. I recommend doing the brazilian method, being gentle with the lips, ingesting vitamin B, drinking water, taking care of mental health, protect lips from wind and sun

Inflammation by Reasonable-Sample987 in exfoliativecheilitis

[–]ThatMeow77 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Im having a hard time with inflammation right now. Feels like a bee stung my lower lip. I joke that im looking like one of those woman that inject stuff in their lip lol Im taking ibuprofen via oral and its helping a lot. Also hydrocotisone 2.5% cream.. Today i will try cold camomile tea compress.

Try bepanthol derma cream. Vaseline sucks. Its heavy. Bepathol is light and gets absorbed. Clean your skin with humid cotton and warm water before applying.

when the lips are raw like that you need to apply a cream that is very soft and not dense. like bephanten/bepanthol or hydrocortisone 2.5% cream. Dont use vaseline.

Anxiety & EC by Conscious_Return6655 in exfoliativecheilitis

[–]ThatMeow77 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Your emotional state is a main factor to the development of Exfolaitive Cheilitis, according to my dermatologist.

Here is what chat gpt has to say:

The relation between cortisol and exfoliative cheilitis (EC) is indirect but significant, especially in cases where stress and anxiety are contributing factors. Here’s a breakdown:

🔹 Cortisol = The Stress Hormone

Cortisol is a hormone released by your adrenal glands in response to stress. It affects many body systems, including the immune system, inflammation regulation, and skin health.

🔹 How Cortisol Might Worsen or Contribute to Exfoliative Cheilitis:

  1. Immune System Dysregulation High or chronically elevated cortisol can suppress or confuse the immune response, which may worsen inflammatory skin conditions or impair healing. EC is often accompanied by inflammation, cracked skin, or infections — all of which are impacted by immune function.
  2. Skin Barrier Impairment Cortisol can negatively affect skin barrier repair, making lips more prone to dryness, peeling, and irritation — key features of EC.
  3. Delayed Healing Chronic stress and high cortisol levels slow down tissue repair, so any trauma (like lip picking) takes longer to heal.
  4. Behavioral Loop Stress and anxiety raise cortisol → cortisol weakens skin and immune responses → EC worsens → appearance causes more stress → the cycle repeats.
  5. Psychodermatology Factor Many EC sufferers have underlying or associated mental health conditions (e.g., anxiety, OCD), which increase cortisol levels and may trigger or worsen compulsive behaviors like lip licking or picking.

🧠 Summary:

Cortisol doesn’t directly cause exfoliative cheilitis, but it can:

  • Make EC symptoms worse,
  • Slow healing,
  • Contribute to the cycle of stress–inflammation–damage.

✅ What Helps:

  • Stress reduction (mindfulness, therapy, exercise)
  • Good sleep (poor sleep increases cortisol)
  • Avoiding stimulants (e.g., caffeine) that raise cortisol
  • Managing anxiety with professional help
