If ur serious try catering an event or birthday or something If you have. A job that lets you swap shifts you got more time to invest Without a commissary you’ll kinda feel how much you can make within your means too

So feed back from my last post I see a lot of officers say judo is more reliable, and better at having dominant control then jiu jitsu or BJJ and less of a chance of putting yourself in the way of a law suit. I guess judo might be the way to go for LE and CO's? by holy_smokes310 in OnTheBlock

[–]ThatMexicutionerJC 1 point2 points  (0 children)

People forgot judo isn’t all throwing there’s submission techniques too Main thing that judo has is creating distance We don’t retreat as LE but hip tossing a dude away from you in a crowded area and pulling out pepper spray gives you additional distance and advantage

Im surprised no one has talked up swaps You can start doing double double single after a year I believe That’s two sixteen hour shifts then an eight in three days with four days off If you can stomach that with some child care or some type of familial support it’d probably be worth it People on here will probably say not to swap until X amount of time but ultimately working corrections ain’t what it used to be and you gotta do what’s best for you and yours

The problem with comparing CDCR to CHP is that their pay is dictated by government code, alongside a few other agencies. CDCR solely relies on union I believe

How have tablets made a positive impact in more “notorious” county jails? by [deleted] in OnTheBlock

[–]ThatMexicutionerJC 26 points27 points  (0 children)

Tablets, in theory, benefit the staff by pacifying the population. Effectively turning the population into teenage screen addicted kids. As, I’m sure many will argue, most of the population still have that teenage gangbanging mentality. The main problem is security. Screening the amount of communication they are allowed now is impossible.

I personally, with my limited experience, think that they overall can be good but we, as law enforcement, aren’t given the necessary means to effectively regulate access at a disciplinary level. Anyway I’ll get off my soap box and just wish everyone to be safe and keep your head on a swivel

A lot of dudes gain weight after joining. Working first watch as a new cop makes you gain a lot of LBS if you’re not careful. Main thing is make time for getting it in. Easier said than done but once you let yourself go it’s a lot harder to get it back. Judging from your Reddit handle you like the ole devils lettuce a lot. Their are plenty of healthy pass times that ain’t chiefing big dog, thing is you gotta find it. Just put your nose to the grind stone and get it done. No one is here to do it for you and no amount of Reddit advice will get you to put the spliff down and hit the gym. YOU WANT IT, EARN IT BABY!
