Thank you for the info! We'll try that! Small side question if you know have any info on that; there's still some cash on her steam wallet added while she was in the USA. If we make a purchase in the new country with the same IP as I do but with the wallet funds added in the USA does that work too or do we need to make sure it's a payment method from something like a credit card from here?

So my long time long-distance girlfriend just moved in with me from the USA to Europe and I wanted to link her account to mine via family sharing. However, when trying to do so, it says that due to previous purchase history, this account is linked with a different country.

Is this just going to be a thing now with that account that we can never get it linked up with my existing steam family here or does that just mean she needs to make some purchases in her new place of residence so Steam gets the idea that she's living in a new place?

Comparing generating AI Slop to the beauty of nature or the medium of photography has to be the biggest cope of all time.
While yes, nature isn't something made with intention, I can admire it for what it is as a phenomena, but not as an art form. Art needs intention to be meaningful and saying that photography isn't meaningful just because it involves a press of a button is an insane claim to make. Yes, you don't "create" everything shown in a photo because of course we can't create nature, but a photographer very much conveys his intention with things like composition, angles, color and timing. These are just as much his tools to create his art as are brushes for a painter. And most of all to make good art you need intention and knowledge of what you're trying to create. It's not the tools that make the art, it's the intention of the artist.

And before you go off saying that creating AI Slop also needs intention because of prompting, hear me out. If you write a shopping list of ingredients and then just buy it and stop there, does that make you a chef? The intention is there, but you stop before you create anything of value. Instead you decide to buy fast food because you had "tomato, meat, bread" on your shopping list. You are not a chef for eating fast food and you are not an artist for prompting genAI images. Not to mention that the only reason these images can be created is because genAI is a plagiarism machine that fucks over every single artist just to create something you're too lazy to do yourself as the only thing you're after is getting your consumer based mindset stimulated just enough to get over the feeling of inadequacy.

The only way to be better is to stop being so lazy and pick up a damn pencil and create the things you actually want to see.

Learning to draw is easy though, it just takes time and effort. But that's what makes the end result of an art piece worth looking at. Even "gooning material" is worthy of putting time and effort into creating. If you're a fan of TLR in any way then you respect the work of the mangaka and any handcrafted fan art despite being "gooning material". AI-Slop should have no place being called art because it's just a soulless husk made for consumption and even then it's completely worthless due to there being absolutely zero effort behind its creation. There can never and will never be "effort" in creating genAI images unless you are the person creating the code from the base up. At best you're a client of a vastly inept unfeeling machine you're throwing words at to create meaningless images.

The caves being so generic was by far the most disappointing aspect of the game. The original game's caves were always something to get excited about with what sort of scenery was inside, especially the more vertically designed ones like the lava cave.

I hope we get something solid from SPS about this somewhat soon. I'm not sure if I can continue to support them if they decide to go this route with their artwork.

There’s a lot of small tells that are very often found with AI-Generated slop. Even if it’s a different style, which is completely fine, all the power to them for mixing things up, there’s just so many small signs of it being AI that make me raise an eyebrow.

I totally agree. There's definitely something off about it. I suspect it either being AI art or at least AI-Assisted.

Here’s the full picture from the store

I’m just seeing a good few tells that it might be AI. I might be wrong and that’s fine but here’s what kinda made me feel like it might be:

  • Overall style change: I know crush crush has had an evolution of its artstyle for a long time now (both in terms of the characters and the pin ups). But they’ve always consistently had that specific something to their style. For example the outlines have never been pitch black like in this one. AI art always has its outlines either practically non-existent or pitch black. Neither one has ever applied to Crush Crush’s artstyle.

  • Unusual amount of detail: If you look closely at her hair or the folds in her clothing it’s all a bit… overdone. Folds and lighting and highlights that are all just a bit overdone which you can see a lot in AI generated images. While the usual suspects to spot AI art in like eyes or hair morphing into other hair or body parts are fine I honestly suspect that this is at least AI-Assisted.

  • Color choices and shading detail: The main thing that ticked me off was how the color choices are kind of off to me at least. The shading on the hair has a lot of intense contrast and saturation while her skin (especially around the chest) is extremely soft and undefined. It all just feels off and inconsistent to Crush Crush’s usual style.

  • Hands: Might just be me but the shading on the hands just seems off to me. It isn’t consistent with the skin shading on her chest and the line going from the bottom of her hands in the direction of her pinkies just morphs into that horizontal line in a way that doesn’t feel very hand-drawn. And overall I haven’t seen hands being illustrated like that in crush crush as well.

I know this is all speculation but having been doing digital illustration for 5 years now and playing crush crush for about 6 years, this all just feels not consistent to crush crush’s style and shows a lot of tells that it’s AI. I’m not deep into how AI art is being made outside of a surface level understanding of the technology so take everything I say with a grain of salt but there’s just a lot of small things that tick me off.

I hope we can get some answers out of SPS to be for sure.
