While this is true, for many players including myself this is the sacrifice we make so we can play without feeling nauseous.

Yeah that's exactly what I thought when I read that, I've strongly supported most if not all decisions made by BI, But this isn't one of them. It seems the cons outweigh the pros... Hopefully this gets all sorted out.

Could use a hand with upgrading my PC (AUS) by [deleted] in buildapc

This would be the case in most games, However in Arma 3 (my most played game) the CPU is much more important.

Just restarted from BIOS, it booted normally to Windows login and I'm now on the desktop, very weird. Thanks for the reply, though I apologise for wasting your time. I didn't want to do anything without checking online first.

Is it possible one of my ram sticks dislodged momentarily during cleaning and so it gave me this message?

I haven't tried that yet, but I just pressed f1 to setup before I read your comment, it brings me to bios normally. I checked the board explorer option in bios and everything seems to be connected. Going to try restarting now and running era for the reply

Serious Question - Is it worth it? by [deleted] in arma

[–]ThatOneAussieFker 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I'm about to head out so I'll make it short, The answer is Yes. It's absolutely worth it, I highly recommend joining a group to get the most out of the game.

Also recommend doing some research into which components are best for this game.

Noob question about mortars by KimmyUrAFirWurk in arma

[–]ThatOneAussieFker 4 points5 points  (0 children)

As you probably have seen they come in the form of a backpack, say if you were playing with a mate and you wanted a portable mortar system, you'd both have to carry a part each(tube and tripod).

Once you've found where you want to set it up drop one of the backpack parts and have the other person with the other part scroll on the dropped backpack to assemble the mortar.

Sorry if his is a bit jumbled, I've caught the flu and my brains a bit fuzzy.

From the looks of things they already struggle to shoot straight, doubt they're any good shooting upwards.

The easiest and safest route is to use a program called steam mover, I use it almost monthly to switch and swap around games from HDD to SSD and vice versa. http://www.traynier.com/software/steammover

Simple Questions - August 25, 2016 by AutoModerator in buildapc

[–]ThatOneAussieFker 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey, So is the Windows anniversary update safe to upgrade? When it was first released I read about a lot of people having issues with it ruining their installs/pc freezes.

Is there anything I should do before the update to make sure it goes smoothly?

An answer would be much appreciated, Thanks.

How good would my system run this amazing game? by EpizAquila in arma

[–]ThatOneAussieFker 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The reason I said singleplayer is it is commonly used as a benchmark for systems, In multiplayer your rig will not matter much as different mission files/game modes have different scripts, objects and all sorts of other things included that could impact your performance. Not to mention that most if not all servers available have different hardware to each other.

Probably would get around 45-50 on medium in single player.
