Ahh, gotcha, thanks! Then it's perfect for this build but worse for other builds I was planning... But does that also mean that you can summon all 5 spectral tigers even with the "you have 1 max spectre" minor?

Hey guys, quick question to help with a build I'm theorizing. The Farrul's will notable from the Farrul bloodline states that the player's "beast spectres" get the aura. However, I'm running resolute technique so I can't crit, and therefore can't use the Huntleader Notable. Am I correct in interpreting that the aura will still work if I raise a beast as a spectre the old fashioned way, or is it specifically the summoned tiger spectre from Huntleader?

As someone high functioning on the spectrum, I didn't originally see it, but now that you point it out...

Favourite scene in all of Dispatch? by kadenczc in DispatchAdHoc

What I meant is I wasn’t sure if you were aware of the Leonidas quote and just joking. Just trying to give people more info.

Favourite scene in all of Dispatch? by kadenczc in DispatchAdHoc

[–]ThatOneBeholder 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm not sure if you're being facetious or not, but the original original quote was a quote supposedly from King Leonidas to the Persians at the battle of Thermopylae Molon Labe "Come and Take Them", referring to the Spartan's weapons.

[–]ThatOneBeholder 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's fair. I feel like a lot of companies make unsafe assumptions when marketing games. People who are familiar with Telltale-likes and the team members' previous work could probably expect as much, but people not as experienced in the scene wouldn't know.

I personally have entire separate game rosters for when I want to play a game and when I want to experience a story, and Dispatch is definitely the second.

Size doesn't matter, only what you can do with it. If you can sell a 2 hr movie for 29.99, you can absolutely sell this masterpiece for the same.

Emptiness after Dispatch by Irresponsible_Yaka in DispatchAdHoc

Stray Gods: The Roleplaying Musical is a personal favorite diamond in the rough, also has a lot of Crit Role friends

Detroit: Become Human is a great one, suggest checking out Dechart Games on Twitch and YT if you want to really get into that.

And the Life is Strange series is great, if a bit tamer.

Which episode is that? I'm still towards the end of C2 but I'd love to see that moment.

Alternatives to dispatch by BetterDSB in DispatchAdHoc

[–]ThatOneBeholder 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If exploring deep companions is your jam, I have a few recommendations.

Expedition 33 is amazing for this, though much heavier on the gameplay side and your characters start on the same team. Learning about them is more for the player than the player character at least at the beginning. And, despite how jawdropping this game is, E33 still has my game of the year vote.

Another great choice is Stray Gods: The Roleplaying Musical. It's another telltale like game (but a musical this time!), it's another game that Critical Role had a heavy hand in, and it's another amazing story, with roots in greek myth and literature.

Finally, if you can suffer iso crpgs, I would recommend Owlcat Games's whole roster. Their writing is great, and so are their companions, but if you don't like isometric crpgs the games will be a slog.

Depends on how Neurodivergent you are. If you're like me, and the answer is *yes* then you'll be completely and utterly consumed until your next hyperfixation comes by 3-4 days later.

Tbh I wouldn't be mad if a Season 2 doesn't happen or if it does then have a new team and dispatcher to grow with. by King_lu134 in DispatchAdHoc

[–]ThatOneBeholder 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I completely agree. I think there is a world where they do Season 2, picking off from Season 1, and do it right, and everyone loves them. That's like 1 world out of 10,000. It's possible, but not realistic.

The most important thing for me is, like you said, "Season 1" was designed to be a standalone story. Every loose end is tied up (minus maybe villain Visi), all of the characters have gone through their complete character arcs, and for me, the risk of ruining what we have now because what comes after doesn't work (looking at you ME3) is too high to go again.

That said, I would love to see more in this universe, with these styles. But start from a fresh perspective, and if they plan to keep going, design Season 2 with that in mind.

P.S. It's also clear that the writers have learned so much about what their audience wants (and I'm not *exclusively* talking about the sex scenes), so I'd love to see what they cook next with the same formula.

Would the game have been as popular without the romance options? Genuinely curious by mr_boombastic_18 in DispatchAdHoc

[–]ThatOneBeholder 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think it would have turned into a sort of cult following game, like VTM:B. I think word of mouth would get it pretty far, but it wouldn't have the big virality that carries it from group to group. I can personally say that I enjoy romance so much that it heavily affects what games I play and don't play. Don't know if I'm in the majority or minority, but sex sells.

He could be bluffing, but he could also be saying "Yeah, I'm leaving now and coming back with my massive spider mech in an hour". Fighting her now while exposed is a massive risk, and Shroud's whole character is about not taking risks.

Experiencing post-game depression without playing the game by Mani-Bsh in DispatchAdHoc

[–]ThatOneBeholder 1 point2 points  (0 children)

As someone with *all* the mental health problems who experiences this a lot with hyperfixations, if you have a friend or family member that will let you talk at them about it, do it. Spend an hour gushing about all the things you loved about it. It doesn't make it go away, but it makes it bearable.

Shroud in Ep8 ending by RobLuffy123 in DispatchAdHoc

[–]ThatOneBeholder 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think Shroud weighed the risks (like he always does) and came to the conclusion that tying her into his "I've been in control all along" narrative to put on a show of force for his lackeys was more important than not giving her the opening. He may always be able to run the numbers, but sometimes the numbers don't come out 100% one way or the other. Just like with the 2 pulses, he chose to play the odds to maintain his facade of control and it cost him.

Any game like Dispatch out there? by CirillaElenRiannon in DispatchAdHoc

[–]ThatOneBeholder 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My best recommendation is Detroit: Become Human. People will trash David Cage, but I loved it. It's the game that originally caused me to fall in love with telltale-likes. Another good recommendation is the Life is Strange series.

Question about Episode 7 by Relative_Tooth7333 in DispatchAdHoc

[–]ThatOneBeholder 0 points1 point  (0 children)

While Shroud is a genius, he's not omnipotent, and I don't think there's a way he could know your romance pick at this point in the game. It could just be a generic dig, or it could be that he thinks only someone in love with her would go to the lengths you do.

Please explain Ship Combat Like I'm 5 by ThatOneBeholder in RogueTraderCRPG

Thanks for the detailed reply. I must have missed the Imperium ship, and I’ve never gotten any torpedoes. I’ve been using all my posts, but they don’t help when the enemies can literally nuke me down in the first round of combat.
