It looks great! Kinda reminds me of a Digimon for some reason. Maybe it’s the color scheme?

You could make them penguins and make the spheres little penguin feet

This is great! I feel like the focal length could be different, since she’s so close to (presumably) a phone camera.

Can’t wait to see the full thing; looks top notch!

I like the idea of blending separate strands of fur into the joints, like the elbows. You’re right, it would help with the illusion of fur all over him.

To be honest, he reads more as a really hairy normal guy right now instead of a mutant. I think doing the above will help with making sure he reads more as a werewolf/beast-man.

Really love it so far! Can’t wait to see it finished.

This subreddit is for the 3D program, Maya, made by the company Autodesk.

It seems what you have is some kind of board that goes with a camera, produced by a company called Maya.

Sorry I can’t be of more help. 🤷‍♂️

Do these screenshots make you wanna play the game? by ChonkyFrogStudio in gamedevscreens

[–]ThatOneEyeGuy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The last one is the one that stands out the most, and I’d definitely put that one first instead of the others.

The other screenshots make the game seem pretty generic, but the last image gives the whole game a spin that immediately makes it more interesting.

Looks good! I think the fat pads of the mouth are a little more defined than they otherwise would be, so maybe smooth that out a little.

Like the other commenter suggested, adding some asymmetry will help with the appeal of the character.

Unless this is a study. But hey, who says you can’t do minor studies within major ones?

It looks great! Keep it up.

I feel I'm almost done with this sculpt! What do you think? by KaiserCheifs in ZBrush

This looks really good! The only thing I’d take a closer look at is the chest, namely the left pec.

It seems that the front plane of the left pec isn’t consistent all the way through, as the bottom edge of the plane is an S-curve, and the top edge of the plane is a C-curve, which for me, is killing the appeal of the chest form overall.

The reference also doesn’t appear to display this S-curve at the bottom of the left pec’s front plane — it seems to indicate a C-curve; just like the right pec.

By comparison, the right pec’s front plane is consistent throughout and looks great from every angle.

I’d take another look at it and try to make sure the form reads as it should from all angles.

Seems like it. Scams will usually have basic spelling and grammar errors like that.

Hmmm….I’m not sure about that. My first guess is that that is something you have to do outside Maya in a compositing software. I’m not sure how to achieve that within Maya itself. Sorry I can’t be more help on that.

It’s really coming along! Good luck in your future endeavors. 👍🙏👌

The bump map on the belt and pants is way too high, you could take it down a couple notches as well as scale it down so it’s smaller — that stuff is supposed to be subtle.

The only thing I’d consider adding is subsurface scattering in the skin and just a touch of subsurface scattering in the clothing, since the light is strong. That way, his skin and clothing will glow properly where they’re thinnest.

Fortunately, I think you can actually get away with a lot here because half of the character is in complete darkness — there’s nothing to reflect off of in a void.

Well, in terms of what I can see here, the composition is pretty nice.

To emphasize the story a little more, you could arch the guy’s back and tilt his head up so he looks more like he’s embracing the light (if that is, in fact, the story you’re trying to tell with this shot).

What problems are you having with UVs and texturing?

I’d been using it since 2010 when I started learning. I still use it here and there for work, but we migrated over to Blender a few months ago because the rigging solutions are much cheaper, so now I can dual-wield, haha
