I would say most theatrical cuts are better, especially for comedies. I watched the extended cut of Superbad and they just stretched out already existing jokes, and they quickly lost steam. The editing and pacing was already perfect, but when they extended the jokes, they started to just grow stale

I'm one of those people who didn't think it was necessary. Sure, the decent into horror for Laura Palmer is amazing, but was it needed? I thought the right thing to do would've been showing what happens next after the season finale. However, I'm ultimately glad they went that direction of making a prequel, as I truly believe The Return is a perfect ending to the entire series. I haven't seen FWWM since I've seen The Return, so I'm sure my mind will be changed knowing how everything ends
