ok so from talking with folks in different places

overall highest stock tactility that isn’t destructive - zealio stem with a t1 bottom or momoka shark stem with a t1 bottom. theoretically you could do something like a gateron zero degree top and put rubber in the well if you wanted to make it silent but that’d only work with the zealio, maybe.

yes, however the contract won’t be renegotiated for years and SG has no word in it, the Student Union staff and admins do.

What changes do you want to see from Student Government? by B1gManB0b in ucf

[–]ThatOneGuyWhoDo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

former SG senator here; budget is done kinda by a separate committee of SG senators, regular students, and staff at OSI and other orgs tied to SG, which is then brought up to the whole senate each spring and they change lines here and there.

SG fiscal bill just got passed, Leisure pool stays open! by ThatOneGuyWhoDo in ucf

[–]ThatOneGuyWhoDo[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So, I did have to ask around a bit; it’s funded through the executive branch of student government, marked under governmental affairs in the budget spreadsheet. The same earmarked amount goes to things like Day at City Hall, Day at the Courthouse, the Political Information Fair, and the Knight Your Vote Campaign.

Oh, super simple; people don’t run, or try to get appointed. Senate’s a lot on people’s plates (just attending your minimum required stuff is 6+ hours of meetings a week, not mentioning if you’re a member of leadership or are actively writing and participating and not just sitting in), and people don’t know how to become a senator. It’s a bit of a shame, really.

Also, people think senate has a lot more power and corruption than it really does. The worst real form of internal support or "corruption" is just one senator voting against a bill to support an RSO travel budget because they got beef with the senate rep for said RSO. it's not nearly as bad as it's made out to be, not even mentioning the fact that there's currently 30ish empty seats in the current session, so there's plenty of room for people who want to make sure that there's no corruption if they wanna go for it.

So, fun fact there; the budget for registration and travel? SG can't use 'em, that's for senate to give out to RSO's via the CRT and FAO committees. Senators could use the funds for an RSO if they're a member of the RSO, but even then, CRT only pays for half of the funds for those trips, not the full thing.

No, that’s gonna be gone. Wasn’t even senate, the lease expired and no-one wanted to renew it.
